does anybody out there know why the g1 ironhide figure has a big hole in his crotch? i cant put any of his accessories in in there(hehe) and the box art shows nothing! anyone have an idea?

You can plug the gun in there in vehicle mode.

I've had Ratchet since 1989 and I never knew until now that the gun could plug in there.

ive been messin around with that hole since i got it. ive tryed to shove all his stuff in there trying to make it fit.....wow

Which version do you have? G1, Ehobby reissue or Encore?

I have the G1, and it has no problem rolling. :\

For the gun in Nissan Vannette mode. It doesn't roll? You got Encore then.

yup hes encore.got him brand new in the box for 10 bux! sux the encore doesnt roll with the gun down there. i just bought the gear4toys upgrade to give the guy a freakin head and some better arms.

I got my Encore mint in box for 30 >_<. I still have the original but I thought, WTF, get the Encore and sell it in a few years. I still haven't opened him and I bought him last month.

The retardedness about the Encore is that they dropped the molding of the hole a smidch lower (probably 1 millimeter if not, because he slightly rolls with Encore as seen in reviews) and so it corrosponds with the wheels and POOP! No rollie for Ironhide or Ratchet :grin:

Anyways, back on topic. I don't own the figure. It's interesting to know this about Encore. However, I'll probably end up buying it anyways, as I'd rather get something newer than fighting the vintage market for one in good shape. (When a reissue is available, I go for it over the original)

Probably wise. You can trim it down so that he rolls with it attached. It works nicely. Not only does it give him a hidden gun, it also makes him look like he's got a drive shaft.
