Mistake or Great Deal on DOTM Megatron?

I just ordered DOTM Voyager Megatron on eBay and it will arrive between April 5th and April 18th. No big deal, I wont mind. I'll be too busy searching for the Cyberverse, but I got him for 48 dollars. Was it a Mistake or a Great Deal? I wont be mad if it was a mistake, besides, all that matters to me is your opinions and the figure's condition. P.S, it is MISB from China. (no duh it's going to be 3-4 weeks)

That would just depend if the extra $28 is worth it to you to have it a month early. I personally would have waited and spent the extra money on something else. Come May you should be able to buy it off the shelf for $20.

I'm assuming you're talking USD.

it would depend on the size of the figure I'd imagine. I saw 3 Sentinel Primes sell for around $100 the other day (more if you tack on shipping). Now that was a big waste of money for those who ordered them as it's highly unlikely the toy is going to cost over $50 when it hits stores. The only perk was (I'm pretty sure) the toy was in hand, so they would get it before most people.

Chances are you might have over-payed a bit, but without knowing the size it's hard to tell if you did in fact over pay and if so by how much. I'd imaging Voyager Megatron is going to cost at least $20. Finding him on the shelves is going to be the trick part though. Lol. Megatron and OP seem to always be the hardest to find, even though Bee is the most popular amongst the kids

We'll just have to wait and see what the market price is when it's released in the States :) But congrats in the winning bid :)

Really? Around me Megs and Optimus tend to be the shelf warmers.

Seriously? Where do you live? I wanna come shopping xD Kidding. I have no idea. I just know I always have great issues finding those two, but I see Bee almost everywhere. Shows how different shopping patterns are in different areas. Haha.

Why are you asking if we think it's a mistake? (It's OK, don't answer) When you're paying a premium to buy a toy before it's released at retail, then you know exactly what you're doing.

Did you get a deal? The obvious answer is no, you got one helluva bad deal. Megatron will be in every mass-retail chain in at least two months for a third of what you paid. But the reality is, it doesn't matter at all, cause you got a badass cloaked Megatron before everyone else. Now you can go, "Na Na, I've firsties, you ****."

Yeah it was worth it. Being an early teenager I don't just hang my transformers on the shelf for display like adult collectors. I actually play with them. Even G1 figures I play with. Call me crazy. but having preview prime and voyager megs, it'll be funny getting prime smooshed. Otherwise I think Megatron would be loads of fun to play with as a loner until the other toys come out. Thanks for your opinion!

Nah I just would like to have a better preview of what the toys will be like and some DOTM enjoyment, other than cyberverse prime. Cyberverse Prime was a good example on how the DOTM toys would be, (epic), but voyager Megs will set off the entire feel for all others in my opinion, but thanks anyway for your opinion :D

P.S: I think you meant to put good between "a" and "deal" in "Did you get a deal", because if I got a bad deal, isn't that still a deal?

Nope. You can say, "I got a deal on my car," and people will understand that you got a good deal.

I don't think your crazy xD I'm in my twenties I play with my Transformers too. Hehe. I will admit 90% of my collection is still in their boxes, but I only started doing that after having about a dozen of them opened... I sort of realized I can't play with them all xD Toys are made to be played with, so you might as well enjoy a few (or all) of them :) At least that's how I see it. Kind of like art. What's the point of collecting art if you're going to hide it away in some forgotten closet. It's meant to be seen and displayed :)

Now there's some excellent spirit  . I agree with you, if it's a toy why not enjoy it a few times? The best part is if you have good vs evil like Transformers, because now you can enjoy winning and losing at the same time! (except if you were taking sides with a friend :-( )

The important thing is you got something you wanted for a price that was acceptable to you. I wouldn't call that a mistake.

I could've got it next week but the shipping would've been 35 dollars and this shipping was 12 dollars (making the figure only 36 dollars alone) and I only had 50, but that's still true. Excellent wording :APPLAUSE:

Personally, there is no way I'd pay $48.00 for a $20.00 figure. I think he'll be well worth waiting for. I'm sure they will be plentiful as the shipments roll in.
But that's my opinion. What matters is if you think you made a good purchase.

Hey buddy, I'm a teenager too! You're not crazy. Trust me, I've seen crazy on this site, and it's not pretty. I love playing with Transformers. I mean, I actually play with them, but I keep the packaging for displaying if it can be closed again. Heck, I only really starting collecting Transformers last fall...at the age of 16. TF was an on and off thing for me since 2004, but I finally discovered how great they are. So no TF purchase is really a mistake, at any age.
Only "normal" and "cool" people think we're crazy. :P

Me too. I started keeping the boxes ever since last year. I started collecting in 2004 with Energon and built my collection to an ultimate with Cybertron and 2007 movie. In mid-2010, where Transformers was technically dead for a while, I switched interests to LEGO until I came back to Transformers in December 2010. Otherwise I'm a long time fan.

This is scary.
You just described my toy collecting life with your own. Except I didn't really collect too many TFs in Unicron Trilogy, however, the Energon and Cybertron lines baited me into the movie line eventually. LEGO has dominated my life too much throughout that time though. If you saw my messy basement room you'd freak. But I'm going to have to clean out all the old toys I have to make way for my TF collection for years to come. Seriously, I'm running out of room with all these TFs and Bionicles and stuff.

This is getting TOO scary. I have a messy room full of Transformers and LEGO stuff too. I'm running out of room too on my shelves. I need to either sell some or get a new stack of shelves. :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

If you have anything other than Lego or Transformers that isn't of use, get rid of that first. If not, I don't know what to tell you. It will be very hard to let go of some of that stuff. But I have plenty non-LEGO, non-TF stuff that I haven't played with in years, and I gotta do some serious cleaning since that room is going to be my new, spacious bedroom and "man-cave". I just have to find a way to hide my TFs and LEGOs well enough so my friends don't see them and call me a freak.

There are two Transformers I have that I don't mind letting go of: Titanium TFC Megatron and TFC Shortround. I do have some Tron; Legacy toys around (Yeah #-o ) that I can sell and some The Last Airbender crap too. :KREMZEEK:

So does anyone know what the size of this toy exactly is? How tall is it in robot mode?

I am kind of in the same boat, I decided to get a MISB Voyager Megatron from China, cost me $25 for the figure and $15 for shipping. $40 total. Probably overpaid a bit, but it should be here by the end of the month. With the big disappointment I had regarding both Prime and Shockwave, this will likely be the only DotM figure I will pick up, unless Leader Class Ironhide looks really good in hand.
