Question about Takara's leader-class"lottery" Jetwing Optimus

I've been studying those clearer images of the fig, and it seems there's actually a "regular-colored" version pictured on the bottom left side of the box. Does that mean there's going to be a mass retail, leader class, retooled DOTM Jetwing Optimus coming, albeit a Takara product for the local Japanese market? I wouldn;t mind putting down some cash to buy him, if there's going to be a "regular" version from Takara.

Or will there also be a Hasbro version in the works?

Any info is greatly appreciated. This is one of the small number of DOTM figs besides Sentinel that I'm actually looking forward to buying.

Yes, there will be a regular version made by Takara. The Lottery version is like Clear ROTF Prime.

Hasbro will not be taking this under their wing, seeing as among other things, they've got Ultimate OP. It's much like how Buster Prime was not used in North America.

Thanks for the info, Blurrz.

I didn't know there was also a clear, unmodified ROTF leader class Optimus as a prize figure.

What about that black and teal UA-01 Jetwing Optimus [the one with the twin chain-guns]? I was hoping for a regular version of that one. The more recent pictures of his box confirm that he's a retooled DOTM leader class Optimus.

There will not be a regular release of the black and teal Jetwing Prime, as that's a lottery exclusive...

:BANG_HEAD: I guess I was getting my hopes up for nothing. That was the only decent DOTM Optimus I wanted to buy, among the dumbed-down voyagers and fairy-wing ultimate class figs.

I guess I'll have to settle for the dual model kit.

EDIT: Just to clear up any possible miscommunication, what I meant by a regular release of Jetwing Prime is as a figure of the same Jetwing Prime mold, but colored in Bayverse Prime's trademark red, blue and flames. I didn't mean to ask if the black and teal colored one will be sold in retail.

Aye, I already answered that though, lol. Red/Blue Regular version will be made available. Black/Teal will be lottery exclusive, but even then that's only about $100-200.. typical for the Leader Prime Tak exclusives.

Heheh, sorry; I'm kinda thick that way.

In any case, I'm pretty okay with the $100 to $200 price tag. Collecting Yamato Macross figs have given me an immunity to flatwalletitis....

Yeah, no kidding. I drop heavy $$$ on Gundams all the time. And there's people complaining about Deluxe TF pricing

I drop large sums on Gundam kits all the times as well and I'll still complain about deluxe pricing going from $9.99 to $11.99 and up.

For me, it's a matter of being aware of the general pricing of my many various plastic crack related hobbies.

Anyways, I really want the black ROTF Prime. He's on my list of figures I'll get my hands on eventually though.

Yeah, MG kits can really burn a hole in your wallet, not to mention PG kits. So far, I've only bought one Exia MG kit, and I've yet to complete it; too nervous about screwing it up. I'll probably never have the guts to get a PG kit.

I totally agree on what you said about Deluxe TF kits. I'm not from the US, which means import taxes inflate the average deluxe fig from an affordable $12 USD to almost $20. Non-US collectors pay far more for TF's, and that's just the Hasbro ones. Takara Henkei or United figs are almost through the roof.

Man, if only deluxe TF's at my neck of the woods went for as little as $11.99.

BTW, the black ROTF Prime is an exclusive prize for some contest sponsored by Takara [I think]. The regular version will be making it to retail, though. All I need now are a DOTM leader class Shockwave and Megatron, and I'll be a happy camper. Well, a voyager Soundwave would be awesome, too.

He's an Amazon-Japan exclusive, and he's a beauty...
