So, I finally caved in and

bought my first movie toy.

So I was in Target in the morning to pick up an Optimash Prime. As I am leaving the store after admiring the stress marks on every Blackout they had in stock, my eye fell on a small tubular package sitting all alone on a shelf.

I wandered over and toom a peak. It was the last Robovision Prie that they had. So, like an idiot, I tink to myself, oh this is a limited edition, I should grab it while I can....and I did.

And I wasn't gonna buy any of these...

Well, it looks pretty cool in the packaging. Almost too nice to open. I haven't opened it yet as I have no desire to.

However, the flood gates have been opened, and as much as I don't want to, I am going to go back and buy more. It is inevitable. However, I don't know if I wll open these. Maybe this will be my one MISB collection line? Its not that I thin these will appreciate. Its just that the packaging is pretty nice looking and I have no desire to open them and play around with them.

Maybe after the movie, when these take on some meaning and personality for me.

Now why couldn't I be smart and continue to stay away. Because i am afraid that the movie will make me really weant these and by July there will be no more Robovisions. So there.

So whats with no autobot logos on Prime??????? Are all the movie figs like this? Me no like no symbols.

I'm not even sure what the point of this post is. Damn insomnia.

Oh, Optimash is pretty sweet. I need a Megatron potato head now. ;-)

I am not a fan of the movie look...yet...however, I cannot deny that this is indeed a nicely made piece.

On a side note, I need to go to my parents place some time and grab some pics of my 8th? birthday cake. My mom made me an Optimus Prime cake that year that I recall being pretty awesome.

Sometime, like next year, I'll scan the pics and post them here for shits and giggles.

I got Leader Optimus yesterday and he's quite amazing imo, one of the best optim...optimuses? optimi? whatever! that came out in recent years. and no "super mode", which I like.

I'm not a fan of Super Modes either.

I like Optimi. Anyway, I was eyeing him. However, at the price, this looks like it will be a shelf warmer and will go on sale at some point. I'll grab him them.

Looking at him, I like the packaging a lot, but he seemed a little blocky and the electronics seemed meh.

You're truly ruining a great experience by keeping them locked in their cardboard prisons. These figures outclass those that came before them, by leaps and bounds.

I've never understood how someone could buy an item called a TransFormer, and never take it out of the box to do just that.

...it's like wiping your butt, then taking a dump.

Mmmm, I would normally agree with you. However, this is kinda a pre-emptive purchase. Until I have decided that I like and am going to keep the movie figs, I am just picjking those up that may not be available later this summer. That way, if I decide to not get involved with this line, I can sell them MISB. And if I do like them, I don't have to pay double to get them off ebay.

What really works out is that the packaging IS nice. Robovision Prime's packaging is almost like a plastic display case.

Yeah, so basicaly, I'm really not that sure if I am going to be keeping him. I really haven't come to grips with the faces and some of the bodies of the movie figs.

Please don't base your final decision on Robo-Vision Prime. He's not a bad toy, but he's not the one to really sell anyone the line. Leader Class Optimus Prime is *THE* figure of the line (so far...)

However, rather than resell down the line and basically scalp, it would be much easier to just keep your receipt and take the items back if you don't like 'em. 90 day return policy at Target, and summer will be nearly over with plenty of time to consider your purchases and still have enough time to return the items. At least give someone locally a good chance to find what they need, not someone on eBay willing to pay (like a lemming running to the ledge) scalper prices on eBay.

It ruins it for all of us.

LOL, great item to keep on the desk at work huh? ;)

Leader Class Prime and Megatron are the only two I will definately get and keep actually. Even if I hate the line, I always get those too, along with Starscream.

Umm, yeah, receipt. I am utterly disorganized. Chances of me still having a receipt in 3 months: very slim. The folder I [put it in will magically disappear. :?

Plus, I am lazy about my ebaying. I kinda do one huge ebay list once or twice a year to get rid of duplicates, parts I don't need, etc.

Nice sentiment though. It would be nice if people did do that. However, odds are, a scalper will find it before a fan. :-(

Robovision Prime does have an Autobot symbol on him. It is on the frontend of the truck mode, as a hood emblem.

So that's why you can't see it in robot mode, because it's on his back.
