Do Not Buy Generations Scourge

I got Generations Scourge in the mail yesterday. Before you say "lucky $@#%!" let me tell you why this is bittersweet news. The shoulder axis/chestplate is so hard to move up that I ended up tearing off his arm in my frustration.

ARGH!

Also annoying is that in vehicle mode (which is otherwise a freaking awesome jet mode) there is so much more weight near the back than near the front that he can't sit properly on his landing gears.

So yeah. Unless you're a huge fan of the character, wait for the repaint if you get this mold at all.

Before you call me out for how stupid I am, keep in mind that this isn't a complaint, it's a warning.

Hmm, funny, I've had no problems with mine. Sure he fits together quite tight in vehicle mode, but I've never felt that he was about to tear apart during transformation.

As for the landing gear, did you deploy all three sets? The two obvious ones feature multiple wheels but don't quite support his weight. However, in the base of the part that is near the back of the plane and slides up with his head (thus, his neck) there is another piece of landing gear that is pretty hard to coax out, but it is a single wheel that stablizies the vehicle mode for display purposes.

Sorry to hear about the arm, hopefully you can fix it?

Just because yours has an issue doesn't mean all them have it. Somehow that's a rule of thumb that seems to be overlooked all the time.

My Scourge is just fine. In fact, it's pretty good. Bit weak in the hips maybe, but nothing serious.

It's okay to warn people, but geez.

sliding the arms/head section up properly was a bit difficult, but other than that it's a fantastic figure. gotta admit, I hadn't messed with the landing gear after realising that's what those bits where. I suppose it's nice to have extra features like that, but most of the time, for me, it's just something I'm not going to ever use.

You know what's wierd to me, though. I got mine coming in from BBTS, but I found one at both locations of Target in my area. Both had a paint chip on the same location of the figure. I can't remember which side, but it was on the thruster.

You seem to have a vendetta on toys currently. First Bumblebee and now Scourge.

Mine was just fine. Are you sure you transformed your right?

I had problems too with that particular step in transformation, after some careful fiddling it came loose. now it transforms just fine.

If a step feels like it requires too much force your probably doing it wrong.

Yep, this. ^^^ I didn't realize he had that rear wheel the first few times I tried to display him in alt mode, then I actually read the instructions! :P

Regarding his chest plate, mine have been OK (I have two). Yeah, it's a little stiff trying to lift it up to snap it into place (robot mode), but not crazy stiff.

I think he's a great figure; I plan on buying four more to complete my Scourge/Sweeps!

Mine is ok too. Arms were kinda of a hassle but over all its pretty decent and looks sweet in robot mode.

Too the point in making me want to open my wreckgar.

Just to add to all the others: my Generations Scourge, which I was lucky enough to find while on vacation in Florida last month, is fine. Paint apps on the cockpit are a little soppy and unevenly spread, and the head and hips are slightly floppy, but the arms and chest are fine.

Scourge, Kup and Wreck-Gar arrived today and I was wondering who to release from plastic prison and who to save for later. Now I'll have to open Scourge just to see what you're all talking about!

Yeah? Is there a trick to sliding Bludgeon's hip/spine/head? I've hurt my fingers getting that to unlock!

No that I've played with him I can say he's truly great! The chest panel is stiff but if you leave that until the end it isn't too bad.

The rear landing gear actually makes his nose point down though.

This is sort of similar to Thundercracker. There were lots of complaints as to the difficulty/tightness of the parts in transforming him. Mine on the other hand was 99% perfect (1% that a bit of his optics were like tearing(robo tears)) But quite minute if you as me.

I have two Generations and one United...the Generation are both fine, but the United is a bit stiff in the chest. It's a great figure, though. Rather than say don't buy, I'd say don't miss...

Mine has a red paint smear on his shoulder but other than that is just dandy.

I had too much trouble trying to justify more than one TT and two Hasbro versions for Scourge (sweeps) and Cyclonus (armada). The only mold my logic seems to be more than willing to accept more than 3 of is Wreck-Gar/Junkions. I like Scourge fine. He isn't as fun as I hoped he'd be for me. Still, some smart engineering IMO. Both modes are pretty ace.
