RTS Special Opps Jazz Paint Variant

I found these two different Special Opps Jazz figures at a local Kohls. One looks like the Hasbro edition and the other looks like the Takara/Tomy edition in the Hasbro packaging. What are your thoughts?

If it doesn't have a rub sign, but a regular Autobot symbol, then it's United. But this toy has both? Really strange, and sounds suspicious.

Gonna call Shenanegans on this.

That's what it should have looked like all along! Maybe Hasblow came into some extra paint and can now grace the back of the car with a little color and not have to continue to sell a half-baked product.

Strange, but very cool if true! Of course, I already have the RtS regular paintless Jazz AND a United Jazz, so I won't need a third 'intermediate' version.
The Takara Jazz is a lot whiter isn't it? This one looks like 'Hasbro plastic' but the extra paint applications are undeniable.

Which is why I'm thinking it's a toy-swapped custom job. Which I find very surprising to say the least.

Is that both of you calling shenanigans, or is that you calling shenanigans on his shenanigans. Either way, something is screwy here.

Or someone in the China factory just screwed up. Mistakenly grabbed a United one, put the rub sign on and then packed it.

Why would someone do a nice customization job and then take the time and care to carefully repackage it like new, complete with the twist-ties, and then return it?

Unlikely. First of all, Hasbro's and Tomy's production runs are separate from eachother, plus the grille and part of the gun are painted silver, something neither version has.

Also the "variant" doesn't have a Kohl's "$14.99" price sticker.

Paid more attention. Yea, that's right. That then puzzled me more. I have an unopened spare one, if I can find this one, I will go exchange for it......

There isn't.

Don't waste your time. Someone is pic scamming everyone trying to get some attention.

Time and money would be better spent on a set of Gen Jazz reprolabels. ;)

The grille is silver in the United version. It's the silver gun that's the throwoff.

ROBIT PWNAGE!

In all seriousness, this could be legit. I found a variant of Tuner Mudflap at Marshalls a while back, but didn't have a camera on me to get it. This variant had a different shape to it, almost cylindrical, and was completely brown. No paint apps at all. Im convinced this was some sort of production error, or perhaps someone worked in a custom log of greasy $h!t and expected no one to notice.

Triple shenannegans for me. Unless somehow, Hasbro lowered the basic cost to re-color/produce the RTS Jazz (highly unlikely though not entirely impossible).

And, why just one?
