Joel from our sponsor - Big Bad Toy Store has dropped us an email about the brand new pre-order for the next Transformers Masterpiece:
"We’ve just received word from Japan that the Transformers MP-10 will be released in September, the retail price in Japan is 22,000 yen, we have preorders listed at $249.99
The name has currently not yet been released, but we were told it is a ‘New’ figure and the name will be revealed soon.

Ten gazillion pages of people speculating over what the figure will be, even though several of those threads already exist, commencing in 5... 4... 3...

At that price, it better be Wheelie. With slingshot accessories. And a voice box that rhymes.

There is no harm in pre-ordering with BBTS so I have one on order. I will decide if the fig is worth the price when the name is revealed. $250 would be decent for a 6 fig combining Devastator (I know, wishfull thinking).

Exciting! Maybe its Galvatron, since they just released Rodimus. I wonder why the price tag is so high, though.

No one has got it right so far.
It's not Galvatron and it's not a multi-pack.

I'm all for preordering something @ $250 without pictures, especially with the top notch qc on Rodimus Convoy!

Should we hold a game-show like thing for this?
If so, here's a hint:
It rolls around on wheels in alt-mode and people will be pissed, utterly pissed when they find out who it is.

Sooo... maybe
Shockwave or a REAL Ultra Magnus... I would say Soundwave, but CP says no multi-pack and I think the fans may be mad if there was no MP Ravage, LaserBeak, etc. included...

With that price tag, I'm sticking with my 2 options:
-MP Movie Prime to go with TF3.
-MP UMagnus with trailer.

Perfect version of Ultra Magnus? The pissed people would be those who bought the original MP and some of the people who bought the Fansproject set.....
They wouldn't make a (super) expensive Masterpiece of an unpopular character so it must be one that is going to make people regret something they've already bought judging by the way you phrased that.
Or yet another version of Optimus Prime. Which would be an easy pass for me as they've already done way too many Optimus Prime repaints in this line and a new mold but still Prime would be just such a boring choice. Oh well, interestingly I'm actually quite pissed off now as this seems like it's the most likely choice.

When I saw the price I knew it was too much to have been Galvatron but I did raise my hopes for a second to think that they might have made an all conquering supereme G1 Devastator for us.....

Well, if it's going to piss people off, I'd say Davastator isn't our guy. The chances that Devastator will piss us off are pretty low. I mean, people will probably be psyched up untill it gets a release (which is when the tears start flowing).
*peeps at G1 toys*
Nah.
*peeps at movie 1 toys*
Yep. It's a new Bumblebee mold.

if its galvatron, it better be 12" tall, have SHITLOADS of diecast put in the right places, have chrome EVERYWHERE, a copy of the matrix with a chain to put around his neck, an awesome transformation that doesn't risk breaking the figure, a light up cannon that doesn't hinder arm articulation what so ever, and finally a nice stand that has his name ENGRAVED in it.
Then it MIGHT be worth $249.99 .. seriously though, Im sick to death of them pricing these MP figures are absurd prices. Its PLASTIC ... there's absolutely NO WAY IN HELL it cost that much to produce (even if it is that detailed and what not.. NO POSSIBLE WAY).
Same thing with Masterpiece Convoy that came with a trailer... NO WAY IN HELL IS A PLASTIC GREY BOX WORTH $100 EXTRA...

I know!! Devastator would have been a huge crowd pleaser for us collectors as would Galvatron. Those were what I had hoped for.
If you read my previous post, that has my ideas for what choices would have pissed people off (perfect Ultra Magnus, yet another version of Prime, yawn).
Bumblebee was the first one that sprung to my mind when it was described as someone who would piss people off but this isn't (so far) a Movie Masterpiece and there is no G1 version of him that would be an in scale Masterpiece that would cost this much (most expensive Masterpiece so far I think). Unless they made him into a Goldbug with some real gold plating. It's Perfect Magnus or Prime.....

So fragile he falls apart when you move any of his body parts Rodimus wouldn't stand a chance......
