Online store robotkingdom.com had earlier published news that the new Masterpiece MP-10 Convoy will sport an additional gimmick - Human Driver!

Details are scant at the moment, but will not be long pictures of the prototypes surfacing soon with all the details explained.

If it isn't Ginrai, I'm gonna find it pretty hard to care. Since it's named Convoy, I'm assuming no. I hope it's amazing but still not on board yet.

Think that pretty much rules out any chance of a Powered Convoy set.

But it does leave the door open for some Powermaster love.
But let's face it, it's just going to be a basic Convoy/Prime with a human driver. Yay.

If they made Powermaster Prime I would have no problem with another Masterpiece Optimus but if it's not and its just another Prime I just can't see myself spending $250 but I will wait for some pics to come out.

Oh man its just inching closer to powermaster prime There is no other human figure that would fit with a G1 optimus prime unless its daniel or spike but the robotkingdom description also says its a "more Japan animate look!"

A Powermaster MP 10 seems unlikely to me because the toy is not as 'main stream' as previous MPs.
However, another MP Prime seems bizarre enough so who knows what this is going to be. Surfice to say, having just picked up a 'last shot' Prime, I'm not too pleased about any of this.

Yeah, the more I think about it the more I rule out it being a Powermaster. I just can't see it being popular enough, even if they can then do Nucleon Quest and Fire Guts repaints.

Would this also means the alt mode would also has an actual interior like the BT/Alts? Perhaps to be in scale with the Alternity line?

Ginrai would peak my interest more than any other human. Particularly if he could somehow suit up and transform into an engine. Unlikely I know, but probably not impossible.

IIRC, the mould itself was meant to have quite a few changes, so there'd be room to engineer in a way to attach an engine.

I hope they don't go overboard with the human interactive gimmicks. I think that hurt the figures in the HA line.

I'm thinking we're going to see one of two things, either.....

1) It's a Masterpiece DOTM Prime w/ Trailer and Sam. Unless we see OP with a human buddy other than Sam in DOTM. Then I would say it would be who ever that turns out to be.

OR

2) It's Masterpiece DOTM Megatron with who ever it is the Decepticons seemed to have teamed up with in DOTM.


I've been collecting for many years now but only 2 days ago got my first MP figure. I never really liked that, 1) they were so expensive and 2 they where huge! Eventually,when the seekers came out I almost bit but I didn't like that they where so much smaller than Prime and Megs. Then Grimlock came out and I have been fighting the urge to get him since day one. Finally got him off ebay and he arrived 2 days ago. My addiction has officially been upgraded! And I thought collecting TF's was expensive before!

WST Thrust is being chomped down on at this moment! He actually looks pretty good displayed with G1 Swoop too.

It would be great if it was a Powermaster Prime/God Ginrai. That's the only one I'd shell out $250 for.

Well I think this latest masterpiece is intended for some TF Fans who still doesn't own a master piece Prime yet. The new mp 10 now includes Roller and if I'm not mistaken, the idea of a gun which can be fit behind the back of Optimus came from the IDW Comics which I Think is Cool!

I usually am not the one to bitch, but nothing about MP10 appeals to me at this time. The only thing it makes me do is feel a bizarre mix of hilarity and sadness.

So this makes two MP figures in a row now that I'm passing on. Such a shame.

I seem to be in a minority on this figure. I think it looks totally boss. I don't own any Masterpiece figures but I plan to get this one. Plans could change depending on what additional pictures/reviews are available and whether it comes to the US. I would gladly pay less for a trailer-free version.

Heh. I think I just figured something out.

There were ideas being tossed around about the Hasbro label being slapped on some of the pictures. If you notice, they focus only on Spike, not Optimus.

Takara owns the rights to the original Diaclone design of Optimus/Convoy. He's their's, lock, stock, and barrel. Spike, however, is a Hasbro creation and was introduced in the cartoon.

My guess is this is a joint venture between them only in design and this will be TakaraTomy only, and we'll never see it here in the US.

With that insane price, knowing TTomy, I'll wait for a white Magnus of MP-11 That will certainly cut the price down to 60%

I just PO'd MP-10 at ye ole hobby store. I just have to own a G1 Optimus figure with a trailer. Might kick myself later for spending the majority of my fig funds if Hasbro produces a leader class Megatron and Shockwave. But for now, Sentinel Prime, Jetwing OP, The Wreckers, BB and Sideswipe are all I need from the DOTM line.

Well, Mirage and Soundwave will be bought if and when they come out.
