The folks at BotCon have sent out a new email update. This recent update deals with selling BotCon Packages on Ebay. Here is a copy of the latest email:
"It has been brought to our attention that someone is trying to sell Primus Packages on Ebay. We do not allow this. Packages are not transferable. We will not transfer a package to anyone else. If you try to do this, we will consider this a package cancellation. We do allow those who can't come (who ordered a Primus package) to convert to a non-attending or Iacon package.
Please keep in mind that anything you bid for online is a non-attending set. We don't want you to bid on something that the owner does not have rights to sell.
Thanks!
Brian"

and here I was hoping for some useful news from them.
Last year, everything was known about the convention, this year, not nearly enough.

What's surprising is not this note but the sheer number of partial auctions for components of the set. Not to mention the auctions for Alpha Trion.
But I got to say, I agree with jsmith41 on this one. There has been little comment on what is going on, other than the initial excitement over the Hasbro tour and movie.
We have one guest confirmed two weeks before the event. No disrespect to David but is that it? Even a teaser "more to come but as a surprise" would be welcome.
Don't get me wrong. The sets, movie preview and Hasbro tours are going to be great, but I'll still be a little disappointed if there aren't more guests...

That was a pretty close call. They released that right before that Primus Package on Ebay was being sent off, and the seller ending up cancelling the auction.

YEAH! screw those fans that would still like a chance to get in on this but may have missed the moment.
And if you already signed up and now it seems you can't attend, well how dare you try to make some of that spent money back!
Now as for you scalpers, hey, I'd try it too!

I don't think they are saying (or CAN say) you can't resell a Botcon package on ebay, only that they will only ship it to you the original buyer, and not to a third party's address that you sold it to.
Once you have a set in your hands, they can't say dittley about what you do with it.

I don't think you're understanding their guidlines. All of the attending packages are in the people's names that registered and paid for it. Even if someone sold you their attending package and you showed up to Botcon Fun Pub will not change the original person's name to yours. They clearly stated that on the registration form that packages were not transferable. I wouldn't tempt fate if I were you or anyone else.

Wow, this is insanity. Funpub can do no good in some people's eyes.
I'm gonna be the bad guy here and point out some reasons why you might want to be sending Funpub some fanmail.
Remember the TRU reissues? Oh yeah, I do, sorely, as I am missing a couple of seekers as are you. Were you afraid that would happen to the Classics. It probably would have, but Funpub stepped up to the plate, bought the rights to bring these to us, and did it. And please do not bring up the price. Its the same price Botcon sets always are and includes tickets to the convention, dealer room, a Target GC, dinner, exc. fig, right to buy more exc figs, etc etc. Seems like a stellar deal to me.
And how many people here have whined about scalpers? You know you have at some point! Well they gp ahead and eleiminate Scalpers by limiting access to those who signed up and can go. If they hadn't, as someone above pointed out, half of us would have had to buy our rimus packages online for a grand cause some scalper had bought a thousand packages.
Now, I am not a huge fan of Funpub. They have done a LOT to irritate me over the last cpl of years. However, man up, give credit where credit is due.

I actually don't have a problem with this. The club made some figures and pre-sold them to people and will ONLY deliver them to the people who paid for them. Of course I still have problems with the fact that:
1. Thundercracker was a Con. exclusive at all! Should have been general release.
2. He was overpriced even for a Con. exclusive!
3 They made far too few of them, considering they sold out before the convention opened!

They limited production based on the seating capacity of the dinner that comes with the big package. If cap. was 1000, then they made 1000 boxsets and 1000 loose sets.
