Slightly disappointed with BBTS

I have been a loyal customer of BBTS for at least 6 years, but today I felt my first sting of disappointment.

I had some pre-orders arrive (United Scourge, Hasbro RtS Legends set) about three weeks ago and felt secure because I knew they'd be added to my Pile of Loot. Unfortunately the credit card I had on file needed to be updated so the payment did not go through. This was my fault as I should have made sure my payment info was up-to-date.

So I go to their site to check my pile of loot and notice the problem. Unfortunately BBTS canceled my orders! And now, of course, those two items are out of stock and will cost me about twice as much to get on eBay.

I'd only blame myself except for one problem.... poor communication from BBTS. Seriously. You'd think they'd at least e-mail me when 1) the payment did not go through and/or 2) right before (or even after) they were to cancel the orders. I get confirmation e-mails when I place an order and when a pre-ordered item arrives so I know they have my e-mail address.

The customer service person I wrote to was no help. She cheerfully replied that I'd be able to reorder any items that were still available. This was irritating because she knew what I wanted was no longer in stock. Grrr...

Thanks for reading my rant. All done venting now!

The biggest sh**ter about that is they could probably accommodate you as I think they usually have a small amount above the preorder stock. Might be worth an email directly to Joel...

That's weird. I get notification that my products arrive, and then a notification that my payment hasn't gone through ususally not to long afterwards. I use a debit card and always have to transfer money from my savings to checking to pay for the arrival of the new products. I'd say check your junk box, but if you are getting notification that your stuff is there, you should also get notification that payment hasn't gone through.

*edit*
Not only that, but they ususally cancel unpaid preorders about 12 days after you get notice of the item being in. This happened with me for Protector. I thought I could just keep it in my POL and not pay for it. I didn't blame them for that, I didn't make payment when payment was due 12 days earlier.

There might be something specific about the phrasing of the emails about payment problems that's tripping a spam filter. I would definitely whitelist BBTS in your email account.

Have you checked your Spam or Trash box? Emails from BBTS sometimes get sent to me there. I guess it's a moot point now. That was horrible service.

Well on the other side, you could get TFSource breathin' down your neck. However, they have been nice to me because I buy so much from them, that when I had the situation with my card's expiry date they gave me their number to call. Nicole was very nice. I was glad they notified me though because I forgot about it.

When the expiration date on my card changed I hadn't realized it either. When I ordered something the next time, they sent me an email telling me it didn't go through. I want to say I got that email the same day.

Well, a few times they tried to actually call me when they could not charge my card. I told the lady once I pay my mortgage and car note they would have to wait. They tried to charge my card three times, and called my house at least 2 times in a week.

I guarantee you if you filed harassment charges they would have never pulled that again.

Seriously, crap like that is illegal.

Ahem.

I don't think a merchant is "breathin' down your neck" if they try to contact you after you try to place an order with them using a credit card that doesn't work. It's their assumption that you want the order that you placed.

Filing harassment charges based on a merchant trying to fulfill an order? Yeah. Good luck with that.

Maybe there's a lot of missing context here. But the jump to characterizing this as "harassment" seems far fetched.

I Never siad they were harassing me...

But yes they were sort of breathing down my neck for the particular order. No I did not have the money. Usually they wait a few days when they try to charge me. I believe that one time they tried to charge me three times, and called my house about the order is very different then any other online retailer I deal with.

I was merely explaining the contrast between BBTS and TFSource...that's all.

And what I may think is "breathin down my neck" is my own opinion. This is however based on the fact that I have been dealing with them for years, so when this happened, I felt a annoyed. Alas, due to my loyalty with them, and every order I made being fulfilled ie paid they did not do that again.

And to clarify...

BBTS has been in the past very cut and dry about preorders. If somehow your card is declined or you forgot to send the money order, your order is dropped. BBTS will email you though, and I remember they did when I got Dark Skyfire. I took off overdraft protection, and a limit set to never go under $100 in my account. If the order is above that and all I have is $100 or less, it will decline until more money or my DD is sent. Now TFSource will at least give you notification plus 10 days to pay before they cancel. But again, it was the one time they went charge crazy, and called. To me, that was annoying. OK? ok.

Yeah we understand. That's not harassment, robofreak. But for me to offically state that it's not, I need more specific information. Did they call you two times after or was the first call a part of the 2 calls? I dont think it would matter, because if they called you every single day than thats a problem, which they didn't so.
