I was just looking at the screen caps:


And while Shockwave may have the slightest tint of purple on some portions of him, he's looking pretty much not-purple like the toy:


So, is the inevitable repaint going to be an accurate Shockwave?

Am I going to buy a more accurate version if it becomes available?

Will it be a Leader class? Or have we hit our Leader quota for the line? Or is the old way of thinking shattered and we are in a brave new world of four or more Leader class toys in a single sitting?

Why am I speaking in only questions?

I think hasbro was going for the G1 homage first and then moving onto the movie accurate version.

I will only buy a second Shockwave if it is leader class. Same goes for Megatron.

Nah, I like my purple one.

If they make a more movie-accurate Shockwave that's only a repaint (or remold), I won't get it, since I like the purple. I might get a more movie accurate one if it were a Leader class figure, however (although there are other figures I'd much rather have in Leader class, such as Megatron).

I wouldn't want a "screen-accurate" version. Shockwave is purple; end of story. The movie depiction is the wrong color. (Unless the character in the movie is actually Shackwave!

I said the same thing when I saw the trailer for the movie, "Shockwave doesn't look very purple." I think he is purple, but a really dark shade that ends up looking metallic on-screen. I would think that if we are getting 2 Shockwaves, one would be leader class.

It's a headache, though. Will there even be another version? Will I have to wait and be exposed to the dangers of ebay?

Agreed, unless Shockwave unquestionably dominates . . . in which case I'll buy as many versions of him as he demands

I'm thinking I might skip him completely. Movie stuff is doing nothing for me.

I had an idea for having 2 and doing some Frankenstein work, but for now just sitting there and starring at Shockwave I'm just not sure. I do know for sure that if I do decide to go forward with him that he shall remain forever in robot mode just like Henkei Galvatron....'nuff said!

Actually I think Megatron deserves even more: an Ultimate class toy in the same size/scale as the Hasbro's Ultimate OP, where different parts of his trailer would transform into weapons, armor, and 2 or 3 attack drones.

Probably won't happen, but it would be really cool ...

I think the purple one looks fine as is, and I would not buy a repaint. I think if he were more movie accurate he would end up looking forgettable among the other drab Decepticons.

I think he's more purple than he looks in that pic. The sky is overcast and it's muting the colors a bit.
