RTS Jazz

So while many of you are enjoying your DOTM hauls, I am finally enjoying RTS Jazz after breaking down and ordering him online once I saw a half decent price ($17).

Anyway, He's pretty cool. But a question. Does his upper torso/hood/grill area tab in or lock down while in robot mode. When I move him or tinker with him, his head folds back down and the hood section flips up like going to car mode. It's rather annoying.

Nope, it a design flaw and in bot mode jazz chest doesn't lock in place.
By the way maybe it loose?

Congratulations! I love that figure.

Nope. You are right. Which is a little sad.

Yeah it's unfortunate even with my United Jazz but its something that is no real big deal to me. Interesting enough I was messing with Jazz about an hour or so before this topic was posted. Great minds think alike Pontimax...'nuff said! :CON:

I find it interesting that people call this a minor issue (which I totally agree with, it's pretty much not a problem), but said that it was a HUGE issue and problem with the 07 TFTM Wreckage - which, aside from the red upper arms and thighs, was a positively EXCELLENT figure.

It doesnt click into place because you can store the weapon in his chest while in robot mode, im not 100% sure but it may show it in the instructions.

Irrelevant. Whether you can stick the weapon under the hood or not, the weapon can serve as a pseudo "engine" in vehicle mode, Takara/Hasbro should have had included a notch similar to G1 Grimlock to lock the chest in place.

Thats the fly in the ointment in an otherwise immpresive, first time in nearly 30 years official Jazz (not counting Binaltech/Alternator)

You said it. It drives me insane. I hate that his arms can't be posed without the entire chest moving. That obvious flaw is the only thing that keeps Jazz from being a home run perfect figure. RtS Perceptor has the same problem with his backpack, to a lesser extent. My Perceptor's backpack wouldn't lock at all, but (fortunately, turns out) I had to buy a replacement due to a broken part. The second one does thankfully lock in place, but only barely.

Oddly enough, I had been selling RTS Jazz in our own trading forms for a while before finally lowering my price of $12 to $10.

You guys should watch for some deals in there on occasion.

It's not really that difficult to hold the chest with one hand while adjusting the arms with the other. =;

I find it interesting that people will complain about minor issues like this with modern figures, when the G1 figures were garbage by comparison.

The math worked out for me this time around to just order him on amazon. I had an order assembled for work related equipment that was going to cost me 8 or 9 bucks in shipping, but if I added the 17 dollar Jazz, I got free shipping. Figured why not get him and get something out of that 8 or 9 bucks. ;)

Who said it was difficult? We're saying that it's annoying.

It's not really that difficult to understand.
Am I to assume you have no annoyances or nitpicks with any of your figures?

And how is G1 even relevant? G1 was good for its time. The bar wasn't set very high. Today, we know they can do better. Fenrir and I have both acknowledged that Jazz is a great figure, albeit with one considerable (in our opinion) flaw.

Not want to start a flame war but G1 garbage? If its' such garbage how come all their latest incarnations are homages from G1? And G1 were actual cars/vehicles( except the 2nd waves up)

Jazz is a great figure, especially the United version. It really shines with the details especially with the paint apps. (in the RTS, his mag wheels don't quite show his vulcanizing air junction, his front grill looks even more detailed thanks to the chrome/aluminum/silver paints etc.)

Given with all the engineering improvements in toy design, that they, the engineering R/D missed this minute detail/issue? Kind of lame if you ask me.
