I recently picked up all three bullet trains complete, in box with directions. The boxes are Ex/Ex+ and the robots are NM. I also have the three trains from when RiD was in stores loose, complete, Ex+. Does anyone have any idea what the two sets would be worth?
I am a new member, and apologize this is the wrong forum for this question.

Rail Racer (and JRX) have taken a nose dive in price in the last two-three years.
For Rail Racer:
A loose or MIB set is $50 tops (I just got a MIB set for $50 shipped).
An MISB set is around $75-$80.
For JRX:
Loose $30-$45
Sealed on cards $50-$60
Giftset (MIB) $60
Gifset (MISB) $80-$120
I'm not sure why the dip in price, but I suspect BBTS's find of pallets of J-4, J-5, and J-7 did it.

They've never been THAT expensive. He's hardly colletible in money-terms. But again, if you're collecting for the money, I suggest you start collecting MONEY.
Beyond that, I think that set is awesome. Great looking combiner.

Yeah, RiD combiners were some of the better designed combiners to ever see release IMO in terms of creativity. That's dovetail mechanism of Landfill was very innovative.
Rail Racer is a must have

I've seen these guys go for ridiculous prices sometimes, which is what held me back for as long as it did.
Imagine my unbridled joy when I found one, loose but complete with no paint wear, for $2 at a church yard sale.

It's one of the best combiner sets made. No kibble or extra accessories needed to pull off the combined mode.
I really wish they'd repaint it.

I'm happy with Rail Racer, thank you. No bad paint and the translucent plastic pieces just look weird in robot mode, especially since one piece is on Midnight Express' crotch.

Since where asking for opinions in this thread.
here's my opinion:
IMHO,If your looking for high quality & the best ever, then I suggest the TFCR JRX toys.
A big majority of the TF fans loated the Hasbro Rid trains/rail racer. because hasbro molded the trains in 100% solid plastic. THOSE PAINTED IN windows look so horrid. I still have nigtmares seeing them in stores.
The Takara versions are better, because the toys have translucent clear windows & painted shiny plastic.
I honestly don't think the Hasbro Rid trains trio is worth much on the secondary market. due to the stuff I mentioned above.
Sure the hasbro trio Rid traina are rare because they were made in lower volume units.
HOWEVER,it's beyond easy & cheap to still get a TFCR JRX box gift set for under $45 at various popular TF selling sites & ebay. their paratically giving the hong kong versions away.
Personally If the the price is cheap & I can obtain the Takara superior versions for a cheaper price than the inferior hasbro versions I'll do so in a heart beat. I think most TF fans feel the same exact way. hence why the Hasbro Rid trains don't sell that great on the secondary market.

Liiiike! Seriously, Railracer/JRX is pretty rad. I went with the Sonokong giftset and I love them. The only RID item I've kept on display since storing a good portion of stuff.

Rail Racer is one of my top regrets in TF collecting. Back when RiD was out, I was trying to collect several lines at once. Transformers, Lord of the Rings, Spider-Man, and
tons of DBZ and Gundam (I was really into the anime craze at the time). I managed to get all of the RiD deluxes and "leaders", but kept putting off buying the Trains. I put it off too long and missed them entirely. The irony is that I lost all interest in Gundam, but my love for Transformers is stronger than ever.

I also regret skipping the Target exclusive(?) green and purple repaints of Landfill.
Does anyone have a side-by-side comparison of Rail Racer and JRX?
