DOTM Megatron Cloak

Hey all! Love this Megatron. Maybe the best movie Megatron. My problem is his cloak cuts down on the movement of his left arm. I think thinking of maybe making one from real cloth or something that has a lot more give. What might be good and have any of you thought to do this yet?

That's a creative solution to the problem for sure and if can make a decent cloak than go for it. I like the idea.

I for one don't feel that Megs has very good articulation really. His poses always seem a bit stiff looking for the most part.

I especially would have liked more articulation in the arms. I'd like his wrists and forearms to be able to swivel but they don't and the cloak does (as expected, to be honest) limit much movement of that left arm without it popping up off his head.

I agree that he is the best Megs in the movie line to date. Try out your idea and post some pics. I'm curious to say how well you do.

EDIT- How bout this? Just keep the hood portion and cover it with your cloth so you keep the shape and replace completely with cloth the portion that goes over his shoulder. That would be a good way to go about it maybe? eh?

I just remove the cloak if I want to pose him.

My biggest problem with the cloak was it staying down on his head so I tied it down (his left shoulder to his right armpit) with the packaging string. Looks heaps better and actually looks like it belongs there! I also tied open his cannon but only because I threw out the clear rubber band before realizing it wouldn't stay flipped out.

I unpeg his cloak from the cloth covering his face, then I kinda try and rebalance it on his elbow on whatever pose he's currently doing. Currently, he's firing his cannon so his cloth is horizontal to match his left arm being positioned to the back, instead of the vertical it should have been to give it the look that the force from his gun is making it tear backwards. Kinda works.

The cloth idea is nice, by the way (I would have never thought about it lol).

Erm... You do realize his cannon's claws can be locked in place? Push the ladder-switch in deepest as you can, then twist it (clockwise, counterclockwise, I cant remember). Long as the ladder's turned slightly to one side, voila, weapon lock.

The trouble with making your own cloak is that you'll lose the belt/buckle details but monstergrotusque's idea is worth thinking about.

All Voyager weapons can be locked in place this way, by turning a knob clockwise. Only the weapons of the Deluxes don't lock in place. I'm a bit disappointed it's not documented.

The head part of the clock actually has a tab that fits in a slot in the right shoulder. Granted, that's the only connection it has, and vehicle mode it doesn't even have any! That's my most major complaint, but at least the cloak's optional.

I've notice that to lock the voyager MECH weapons, the button has to be pushed in until you hear the "click" noise, then the button can be turned clockwise to lock it in "MECHTECH Mode"

Or you can just detach the head cloth from the cape. C'mon guys, do you watch reviews?

You can also do this, if the scraped eye doesn't bother you:

I made a cloak for Megatron last week. I thought of it long ago but never bothered to do it. I made it out of a pear of brown tights(not mine obviously) it looks really cool and makes Megatron look scary, but it is soooo difficult to put on because there are lots of holes in it to make it look damaged so its hard to find the hole for his hood. I don't have it on him now because I took it off to transform him and I couldn't be bothered to put it back on. The difficulty is the main problem with having a real cloak
