Well here we are Seibertronian's in the midst of DOTM wave 1 figures. You either got the figs you wanted or your still on the hunt. One thing is sure is that Voyager Prime is an easy fig to come by for now. So you either picked him up or you didn't for one reason or another. But why didn't you get him? Did you hate him all around, did you figure there is plenty now so you will eventually get him OR is the Prime you want on the horizon?

Now me Voyager Prime is not bad. After looking at 2 key video reviews he looks like he has some great articulation. Yes/No? His gun I think is pretty cool and cooler when I take my glue to it...I know I'm crazy. His alt-mode isn't that great, they went with solid black wheels and the way his tail looks when in truck mode just doesn't look right to me so I have to pass.

So out of the up coming Primes weather you got the first DOTM Prime or not how will you choose? Will you get Voyager Prime with dark colors and battle axe? Will it be Takara Voyager Prime with new gun and trailer? How about Wingblade (is that name right?) OP or will it be Ultimate OP with merging trailer? That Ultimate Prime looks too top heavy to me and if I want top heavy I got my Omega Prime which is a fav of mine.

So then what say you, which one of these Prime's reigns supreme with you and is a must have, or will you just have to get them all like they were gundam Pokemon?

I didn't buy DOTM voyager prime because personally it looked like a Play school GO-bots toy meant for younger kids under 4 years of age.
the toy in robot mode looks like a ROTF Power-bots toy.

When ever their are various sized/priced optimus prime toys released in the same line. I prefer to get the most adult sculpted/designed & most complicated one as far as more parts,more poseabilty & harder transformation process goes. most of the time the leader sized TF toys will be more complicated,have more parts,harder transformation challenge & more adult themed sculpt/design.

I'll be buying the DOTM ultimate optimus prime toy instead because it's based off my preferred TF toy buying preferences.

I'm not a completist nor do i ever want to be one. I only buy TF toys that I actually like.

none? id still rather buy a buster prime if i ever decided to replace my classics voyager prime...

Ohhhh man after looking at the video that was posted in the "Takara takes DOTM" topic thanks to Seibertron member Bonecrusher27 I'm considering not bothering with Takara Voyager Prime with trailer. For those who don't know go to that post and see that video. BUT still I thought the slight paint app variations were cool along with his different pistola. The damn trailer is just an orniment to me and nothing more! Decisions, decisions....'nuff said!

I might get him eventually, but there are a lot of figures I want more at the moment.

I've got Hasbro's Voyager Prime. I'm setting my sights on Ultimate Prime, though. I need a Prime that combines with his trailer.

I just thought the solar panels look bad so I'm waiting for the one with the trailer. That said, I do want the redo of the RotF one with the moon and stars painted on it from Walmart. I'm a sucker for astronomy and it come with Comettor to boot! Go you crazy moon buggy!

I'm with you on the solar panels. I think the Takara version looks better. Seriously, though... Why does a giant alien robot need solar panels?

I want DOTM Prime (mostly because of the Mech Tech gun), but my PRIME objectives to get where at least one of the Wreckers (which I got), Shockwave (who I also got), Crankcase, and Megatron. THEN Optimus comes next.

Me? I'm all about realism and screen-accuracy, which means I won't be buying Voyager OP. Takara's Jetwing OP will be the only Optimus I'll be buying for the DOTM line.

The new voyager Prime just looks awful. His lower legs are ridiculously long and he looks all playskool rounded. I'm sticking with RotF voyager and leader Primes. They are the best movie primes.

rotf leader prime is /was the best movie prime were likely to get so no ill be passing on all primes this go around. same goes for charachters that have already gotten the HA and rotf treatment i dont need another version no matter how it may look.

Correct me if I'm wrong but one of the ROTF Prime's is a redeco/reissue of Buster Prime yes/no?

I see no need to replace my BB Prime on my movie shelf.

yes the the original release of leader prime (with blades) was the base for buster prime but the gas tanks on buster combine into his gun. that and the paint/chrome distinguish buster from the regular leader.

I compared DotM Prime to Star Prime in Walmart. I quickly chose Star Prime, for various reasons of overall betterness.

I bought DOTM Prime. He's not great but the gun is cool and my son will like playing with him.

I personally love DOTM voyager Prime, in fact he's one of my favorites of the line so far. I do plan to repaint him though with metallic paint. My biggest gripe about the figure is he's so darn small compared to other voyagers. Stand him next to movie 1's Starscream or Ratchet and you'll know what I mean. The solar panels don't bother me much as I figure all will be explained in the movie. His lack of trailer does bother me but it's not a deal breaker. Hopefully Hasbro will give him his trailer in time and I will buy it again. Maybe a G1 colors repaint!

I also bought DotM Voyager Prime, after my wife convinced it will be hard and expensive to get the Japanese version with the trailer. He was just calling out to me.

I agree he's a bit on the small side, but he's well armed, plus the panels and boosters give him a tough look, like a battle mode I'm still getting the Japanese version if I can find him at a decent price, just for the trailer and the weapon.

Speaking of weapons, I'll keep saying this until everyone knows: Voyager weapons can lock in place! Knob on Prime's gun, and ladder on Meg's, twist them clockwise.

I wish Hasbro sold packs of Mech Tech weapons, maybe like packs of 5 because I don't like that voyager prime but I think he has the best mech tech weapon(besides ratchet) and I really want it

Call me dense but nothing on Megatron ladder moves. You push it in, the gun pops out, you stop pushing and the gun retracts. Not twisting, no latching, no locking.

Edit: Never mind, I got it. Evidently I am that dense.

After ROTF Leader or even Voyager, what's the point? They went from awesome, movie accuracy to lolwut?...

For all 3 movies the best Megatron released has been the Voyager one. This is the first of the Voyager Primes that hasn't been nearly as good as the Leader classes. DotM V Megatron is made of pure win while it really seems like they just gave up on Optimus. The only thing that is going to get me to buy this thing is the trailer.

I thought the first movie Voyager Megs was pure s**t. ROTF voyager Megs kinda sucks between the huge backpack and the fact that he's green. But I have to admit, DOTM voyager Megs is actualy a pretty nice figure. His alt mode scale is jacked and his head looks @$$, but if you can get past those hang ups, he's actually a pretty impressive fig...which probably has everything to do with him having a real alt mode so they had to put some actual effort into him for a change.

Indeed, only a few select Mech Tech weapons are great in design and Voyager Prime is one, IMHO SS is the other. Prime's cannon looks great in either mode and SS looks perfect just as a gun without the need of a blade...'nuff said!
