dotm in neo g1

was just looking at a few of the figures ive picked up and couldnt help but notice some asthetics that remind me of my classics figs like actual hands, feet, and overall proportions.
although some of them have a distinct looking alien vibe to them especially in the headsculpts they seem to fit rather well in the classics lineup. typically i display movie figures separately from all other lines but this is the first time ill be mixing and matching them up.
for example the wreckers although not comic accurate for obvious reasons still have this vibe to them that lends itself to the classics line. sandstorm is another one that will be with my classics just dont know who he homages yet.then theres powerglide and shockwave who work perfectly as themselves and fill a hole in my collection at least till a classics version is made (have but dont like pg ultra version).
lastly is skyhammer who will be for now my classics whirl although without his cycloptic eye.

what if any figures are you getting that give you this feeling and will you display them with your neo g1's?
i guess another question which might be redundant is are you getting a figure BECAUSE of its homage to another charachter?
:D

So far the only one that I'm going to use as a homage to a G1 character will be Takara's Vortex, whom I'm going to use as Spinister.

I'll be getting more figs from the line, but they'll be new haracters, not homages to old ones.

I do something odd with the movie line in my fevered little brain, and the Human Alliance figures only emphasize that...

The idea is that between 1987 and 2003 or so, the US Govt got together with Wheeljack, Ratchet, and other Autobot engineers, and created cyborg bodies for horribly injured soldiers based on cybertronian tech. On first conversion, they're just Scouts or smaller (ROTF scouts and the minicons from PCC Commanders), but as they prove their loyalty, etc, they are given larger and more powerful bodies. The most common design is the Modern Camaro, just because, hey, it's a Camaro, so that explains the relative proliferation of Bumblebee figures and repaints in my collection.

On the Decepticon side, hey, they're either human Collaborators (with, unknown to them, circuits to enforce obedience), or lobotomized slaves used as cannon fodder (always easier to repair the body and plug in a new brain than it is to go all the way to Vector Sigma for a new Spark).

Of course, I also treat "normal" minicons as Micromasters... and have declared all Micromasters, Powermasters, Headmasters, Targetmasters, etcetera to be the initial body for a human cyborg...

Funny you mention that, I do the exact same thing, and even custom paint some figures to make them fit the G1 mold.

Thus far the only ones I've seen that may work for Classicverse are Powerglide, T/Ts Vortex and maybe MAYBE Shockwave. Anything more than that is too mush of a stretch for me.

Crankcase has gone straight in with my classics Decepticons, as will Shockwave and Vortex(Spinister)...

I have my DOTM Megs standing beside my G1 Megs. The two are almost the exact same size in height and width and really do share the same proportional aesthetics anatomically.

The torso is very G1 and and hips. If you have the two. put them beside each other. You'll see what i mean. Not really neo G1 but it's the closest to a G1 Megatron the movieverse have made yet.

minus the cloak of course. ;)

I'll be using Skyhammer as my Classics Whirl, and I may use Shockwave in my Classics collection too, at least until we get a more Classics-styled one (if we do).
