Hi,

I'm new here but i was wondering if you could help me out?

I'm from the UK and today I finally got my hands on a DOTM Sentinal Prime from my local Toys r us.

I've just unboxed him and tried to transform him into the Firetruck and it seems that on his back bumper, i've unluckily got one which seems to have the same part that tabs together twice and as such it will not join together.

With this figure seemingly not released on a wide scale yet in the UK, i'm wondering if there have been quality control issues which has delayed his release here.

Does anyone else have this issue or have i just been unlucky?

Yeah, all of the pannels on the side and back of the Fire Truck Mode wont tab in for me. It may be a manufacture problem, but that's only two words against over 2,000.

The ones on the side all tab for me. It's just that single middle black part of the back bumper that won't. If i'm not mistaken, it looks like the same part has been placed twice.

Can you post a pic of the parts in question? Mine had a little extra plastic flashing back there that I had to trim away before it would lock together. It was a pain and took a lot of constant realigning but I finally got him into alt mode.

Mine arrived in the post from ebay this morning. I'm not supposed to be opening him until I've seen the film but this thread makes me want to open him to check.

I've taken a couple of pictures. I'll upload them later though as i'm about to go get him exchanged.

I got him instore along with leader bumblebee in the buy one get one half price offer. I've asked on other forums if others have had issues and quite a few are telling me they have. He's generally fine in robot mode but the firetruck mode is showing problems. Personally, i'd open him and transform him just to be on the safe side.

I can't get the back bumper to line up either, but I think I'm just not doing it right.

Just a quick update.

I returned my Sentinel. They had 5 in stock, 4 of which had the same fault as mine. I picked up the one that didn't and went back and transformed him in the car. When transforming him in the car, none of his side panels would clip together and they all looked bent. I tried to tweak the arms and legs but it just wouldn't come together and i've had to return him and bumblebee for a refund.

Either i'm really unlucky or i think there could be something not quite right with the EU Sentinel Primes.

I'm gutted about Sentinel but i was over the moon when i seen a Masterpiece Grimlock sitting on the shelf so i got him instead.

There shouldn't be a tab on the bumper part on Sentinel's left foot. I found when looking instore that you could see whether it was there by just looking through it. Saying that, from my experience it seems you aren't in the clear yet.

Yes, the tab is only on his right foot. What I've just seen about bent panels is scary so I'll have to start playing with him tomorrow. Nothing looks bent though.

Just picked sentinel up from TRU in UK, was going to tuck away in cupboard for my boys birthday, now i just have to open and try transforming, HASBROS QC is looking sloppy in this line of toys

If the OP is talking about the same parts we think he is, I agree with you. There's a tab on both sides. The right leg is more in the center-ish and the left side is at the edge of the piece. And mine has worked flawlessly.

The replacement i recieved which i also returned did not have those bits sticking out on the bumper on both sides. Also if you look at the photo, you can see how the design on the bumper does not line up to form the number plate. Also, the tab on the left red panel couldn't fix into the bumper as there was nowhere for it to slot into.

OK so i got a chance to transform my (well the boys) sentinel, couple of questions;

What speech has everyone got with their sentinels - mine only says 'sentinel prime' when pushing chest piece, and no alternate phrases i have seen in other reviews. When i fix a mechtech weapon into right shoulder i get 2 different transformation sounds when pushing siren button (on left shoulder). Do we have a different sentinel revision distributed to the EU ? I would be interested to hear from everyone regarding this matter

Not that impressed with the panels, while i have no bent panels or the tab problem on the feet, hes a biatch to get lined up correctly at the rear end in alt mode.

OMG I seem to have gotten a US version! Mine also says two other phrases when the button is pushed on the right shoulder and the chest thing is pressed in.

biddilybah: When you said the one you transformed in the car had bent panels, you may be mistaken. I had a devil of a job getting the red panels (the ones attached to the shoulder, above the black 'fire rescue' panels in truck mode) to clip in. The problem is that the tab in the middle at the top edge is really really tight. If you don't get that clipped in it does make the panels look bent. Also, the fists must be facing palm inwards.

K, if you press his chest, he'll say "I am Sentinel Prime." but when you plug a Mech Tech Weapon into the hole the right of his head near the back (your left) he'll make a sound. He will then say when you press his chest: "What has happened to the Allspark?" and "Good to see you alive, Optimus."

He will also make alternate siren sounds, and when you pull the MTW out, it makes the classic Transformation noise.
