Big Lots......

Went to Big Lots today to look and see if they were still loaded down with Leo Primes and Soundwaves from Universe. They actually have DOTM deluxe and legion class figures!! Better yet for people like me who love minibots....they have all 4 Generations minibots!! And just when I was going to order the set too!!! They had Swashplate, Drivetrain, Brake-Neck, and Pan-Handler. I got all but Pan-Handler because he is a repaint and I only collect one mold per minibot. They were going for a hefty 4.80 ea, which is a lot considering I just bought a set of the 18 classics minibots at $42, making them roughly 2.60 each. But hey, they are 4.25 each on Entertainment Earth, so t o have them in hand is worth the half dollar or so price difference. It looked to have about 3 of each, it think it was two pegs w/ 6 in each peg.

Also, for the Cybertron fans, they have the new set of 3 scouts for the Generations line as well. They are here....

They also still had Leo Prime for anyone who would care. I didn't, but I did get my three minibots. Thanks Big Lots!!!

The only Cybertron figures I'm interested in are Scourge, Thundercracker, Crumplezone, and Jetfire, because those are the only four Cybertron figures I don't have (yeah I went mad with those guys)

I thought the three scouts were new? Not molds, but repaints of Cybertron figures. If so and you collect them, why would you not want them?

The whole animal take on the Transformers in the 1990's and such was lame overall, so it really wouldn't have mattered if it were the voyager or legends. The Beast Wars stuff was a treacherous time in Transformers history.........

Undermine and Wreckloose aren't new, they're the same. However, Backstop looks like he has different paint apps this time around.

Just get him then. I think they were $8 or so. They looked ok, but I'm not really into the whole animal transformers thing. Only original G1 animals, like Ravage and such.

Beast Wars brought Transformers back from the brink of oblivion. You can thank Beast Wars for having Transformers today.

I'll have to check my local Big Lots, they usually have a lot of these. Sometimes Tuesday Morning will get them in as well.

No.....we would still have everything we have today....without kids asking their father why the hell Optimus is a freaking lion. Hasbro would have come up with something.....anything.......else. One proof of this is the fact that the Universe Cheetor figure can STILL be bought on HTS......you can't say that for any other figure in any line that is over a year old. That gives its popularity a whole new level of suckeyness......and besides it is just dumb. Seriously....its realllllllllly dumb.

Nah, LC is right, if it werent for Beast Wars, Hasbro would've never gotten the, uh, COURAGE, to continue the franchise. Thus, Seibertron would be dead right now...

gambit020480: You really don't know what you're talking about. Anyone can tell you Beast ars saved the franchise. I had the best writing, story, and characterization I've ever seen for a TF series. Also, the toys were awesome. I still long for the day when they'll bring beasts back into the franchise for a full run.

As much as I enjoy Beast Wars discussion, can we stay focused on the subject?

I never shop Big Lots much. Never have anything I need.

Off topic but still pertaining to the discussion, I too thought BeastFormers were dumb...then I got Big Convoy :BOT: :x

From there I got several Beastie Primes and I love them all

if anything, there is one way to justify it if you truly are adamant about not liking the idea of BeastFormers.....you kinda gotta get the Primes at least

So your logic is that because a single toy is unpopular, an entire series is unpopular. Universe was a line more or less dedicated to fans, we have higher expectations and honestly that figure was terrible. But Universe Dinobot isn't on HTS, nor in the few moments I spent on Google could find a store with him in stock for under $18.99.

And as far as your quote about "there isn't a single figure in any other line over a year old you can say that about" ... one quick look on HTS and I saw listings for Animated, RotF, N.E.S.T, and Titanium, (just to name a few) andI believe all of those lines have been canceled for at least a year.

And those kids asking why Optimus is a lion I'm sure are the same kids asking when they see any Classics figure are asking their father why Ratchet, Ironhide, Bumblebee, etc don't look right. Or probably as 'why is Optimus white?, when they look at Ultra Magnus.

P.S. - Leo Prime isn't Optimus :-)

I inda miss those poor quality KOs they used to have. BW Megatron and Heinwhatsit(Tanuki TF) were just plain fun to mess with cause you had no fear of damaging your real toys. There was also a really jacked-up looking Optimal optimus.

That is just your OP. Mine is it sucks. I can't see how you can ask us to stay on topic when you blast my OP with your 2 cents and then tell us to stay on topic. If we are to stay on topic that is fine. I just made one statement and all the fanboys came out of left field. The topic is and has been the one I created about the Big Lots sightings. Others started a novel based on a statement.

I think they did have a few there. Two I believe. I just can't remember what they were called. But trust me, they were not cool at all....

I'm sorry, I just remembered they had the Commander Class too. They had Powerglide and Prime for sure, I think Sentinel Prime as well. Deluxes I remember are Ratchet, Crankcase, Skids, Bumblebee, and Roadbuster. I can't remember any of the legion class figs, but they had quite a few. The deluxes were going for $12 and the commander class was $8. I think Legion was $5. Oh yeah I just remembered as well, they had the Universe rubber guy figures, can't remmer what they are called. They had Arcee/Rumble for sure because I remember looking at that one. Is it called Robot Heroes or something?
It was the largest selection of TF at Big Lots I have ever seen and it rivals Targets spread for sure. And in my OP is superior because of the scout and minicon generations figures. I have not seen them anywhere else at retail.
