The Wrecker Theory

The Wreckers have made an appearance in three different size classes so far (Legion, Deluxe, Human Alliance). I think i'm seeing a pattern. We're getting all three of them in each of the afformentioned size classes, but one of them is the odd-man out when it comes to weaponry.

Legion: Topspin Clean, Roadbuster Armed, Leadfoot Armed
Deluxe: Topspin Armed, Roadbuster Clean
HA: Roadbuster Armed, Leadfoot Clean

If the pattern holds, the next two Wreckers will be a Human Alliance Armed Topspin and a Deluxe Armed Leadfoot.

What I'm hopeing for or betting will happen.....

Remember when the first Rampage came out yellow. Then, about 4 months later.... the red one came out.

I'm hopeing for these to be fixed or done again with the deluxe molds? The weapons can flip out. Like they did with Bumblebee with the cannons that flipped out from the hood. To make money, I could see this, however that would bring in logic to hasbro.... so it might not.

Darn, now I feel torn between wanting to collect the HA wreckers and the deluxe versions. HA's, out of scale but immensely more complex and display-worthy, but deluxes are in-scale with the other figs.

Decisions, decisions....

I personally don't care about scale in the least. If you're looking to just display them get Human Alliance, but if you want something to fiddle around with go for the Deluxes or Legion.

I'm going for the Deluxes and handing off their Mechtech weapons to Roadbuster to armor him up a bit.

You do have a point there, Twitchy.

There's one thing I forgot to mention, though. My biggest peeve with the Wreckers right now is Hasbro's unwillingness to make up its damn mind and either release all the Wreckers in brute mode or normal mode. I hate to have one Wrecker ready to blast some 'Cons while the other two are just kicking back in normal mode.

At least with the deluxes, I've got one brute mode [Topspin], one with a "DIY" brute mode [Roadbuster], and hopefully Leadfoot will be in brute mode as well.

With HA, Roadbuster's in brute mode, while Leadfoot is normal. Thing is, Leadfoot doesn't look like he can achieve a DIY brute mode. So my chances of getting all three Wreckers to be in the same attack mode is with the deluxes.

I just know I'll be kicking myself if three months down the line, Hasbro announces a brute mode HA for the normal alt mode Wreckers that were released earlier.

You also have a point.

The possibility is there for them to re-release each Wrecker in their Brute/Clean mode later on when the other versions aren't on the shelves anymore. So really you have the option to get them now and arm up Roadbuster, or wait and hope they release the other configuration in the size class(es) you're after.

I'm thinking they're doing this intentionally, because for each Wrecker to have two seperate molds in each size class would get rather pricey and possibly lead to shelfwarming (like a certain yellow Camaro). This is why i'll take what they're putting out now and do the DIY Brute Mode with Roadbuster (though they'll be in robot mode most of the time anyways, so it won't be all that obvious that Roadbuster isn't in Brute Mode).

from what i gather you basically mash about some parts and half mistransform it until it look "mechanised"
or something.

I guess I'll be sticking to the deluxes, then.

Some faint good news about a series to be released where there all the same. The RPMs will release them all in there stealthforce weapons out mode. Topspin, Leadfoot, and Roadbuster all available

I'm still hoping for a later release of the deluxe models released at a later date or Human alliance to do so.
