They don't look half bad. I may get a Deluxe Crankcase after all.

Good find. I almost like the look of that better than the dagger middle finger anyway.

Ah, good news. Looks like the Takara-Tomy variation made its way to the US. Which is good, I've sighted a crapload of 10601's in the Netherlands!

We have an update in the ongoing saga of the fingers of deluxe Crankcase. If you have been on the hunt for a Crankcase with intact fingers, Seibertron member RodimalToyota has found a figure with what looks to be the Takara remolded fingers. No longer making obscene finger gestures and no unsightly clipping. This was found in Tucson Arizona with a product code of 111211. Check out the pic he provided.

Cool! I think we all saw this one coming, but I didn't expect to see it so quickly.
The fingers do look good, but I still prefer my FU fingers!

I'll still be on the lookout for this though. Maybe I'll build a squad with all three - intact, cut, and remolded fingers.

That's exactly what I'm thinking...
By the way, if you don't listen to the podcast, you should. You got a shout out for the hard work with this whole debacle. Is the "X" in your name an "X" (the letter) or a "ten"?

Wow, Hasbro has put a lot of time an effort into this issue. Instead of worrying about something so trivial how about working the overall QC of your figures?

Pretty sure all the factories that produce the toys are contracted to Takara, so they're the ones who are indirectly responsible for your QC woes, not Hasbro. Hasbro doesn't have much to do with the actual production and assembly of any of the toys.

It's to both as far as I know, but the factories still hold responsibility for any mishaps, not the companies that contract them. Hasbro and TakaraTomy are responsible for the designs, how good or bad they are.

Regardless, a lot of time and energy has went into clipping fingers and remolding new hands over something that most would consider a non-issue.

It's a non-issue until some dumb kid for some reason thinks pointy objects belong in his eye, and his parent, that can't parent then wants to sue Hasbro for millions because baby ED cried for a few seconds.
Thank America's incompetent, not Hasbro.

I thought that was the point of using the soft plastic? A kid could just as easily ram one of Voyager DOTM's Optimus Prime's soft smokestacks into their eye. Actually Prime's smokestacks are probably considerably more "dangerous" and I use that term loosely. You could have Prime sitting on floor in alt mode with stacks up and have a kid trip and take one right to the eye. Not to mention the figure in question has giant pointy pinchers coming out of his back. So the finger was a safety hazard and those aren't?
There is no safety issue. They clipped them because it was his middle finger, but considering he only has three fingers who's to say which finger he's giving the world? Maybe it's his ring finger and he just wants all the single ladies to know he's available.

It could also be another message to the ladies, maybe that's what Hasbro was concerned about. 2 in the....
Kiss Player Crankcase?
sorry couldn't help it!

I believe there were at least three seen during production traveling with Megatron.

In one particular scene there are three dreads chasing Sam, you saw a glimpse already in the Chevy commercial, it's where BB goes stealth mode.
so there could be even more.
that's not really a spoiler, since you can see em'.

It's just 'cause it looks like he's flipping us off. Hasbro probably figured they'd be better off spending a bit of money/effort to fix this now, rather than have some outraged parents with far too much time on their hands later decrying all Transformers as being inappropriate because this particular one was giving what could be seen as an offensive or obscene gesture.

So which will be the one that ends up being the chase/more epensive version? Spike, cut or remold?
Lets be honest if this hadnt happened this figure would fade in to obscurity like most movie figures

The long fingered version will probably be the most desired, since it's the one they are trying to censor.
