Hey gang,
I was wondering if I could get some help deciding on which of these to pick up right now they are both on clearance for $13! I've had my eye on Banzaitron for awhile but Bludgeon looks cool as well. Except the size difference these are the same toy correct? Just not sure of why the name change. Has anyone picked these up? Any thoughts or recommendations?

They're the same mold, and thus the same size. It's just the way they're packaged that makes them seem different. Just to let you know, they're repaints and thus different characters.

I'd get Bludgeon over Banzaitron, as G1 Bludgeon was the main inspiration behind RotF Bludgeon.

Blurrz is spot on here. It's an excellent mold. Not annoying to transform at all, but still reasonably complex.

Get both, then get the upcoming Headrobots upgrade for Bludgeon to set them apart even more.

Thanks for the insight at $13 a piece it's a good bargain to get both. Though it cuts into my funds for picking up the newer toy lines. LOL

If the name of the character means little to you, I like Banzai's paintscheme better. Bludgeon kinda reminds me of a pumpkin...

even if you like the look of Banzaitron (sponsored by "mr shaky hands man") i'd say get Bludgeon (at that price, get both) because sooner of later you'll come across some fiction that'll make you want Bludgeon, whereas the chances of coming across any fiction that features Banzaitron are slim to none.

The toy is pure Metal and pure awesome. A tank transforming into a skeletal samurai with a badass sword. And he's a good toy, to boot!

What they said. Get em both if you can. If you pick one, chances are you'll later wish you would have grabbed the other.

I kind of wish they would have come with a different head mold originally. My only issue with this guy is that it puts Brawl to shame if you got the deluxe size.

I've got them both. I only got Banzaitron because I thought I'd never find Bludgeon, then like a week later I started finding them at TRU every time I went.

Bludgeon I like because he's a great update to one of the last g1 toys I got, but frankly, I think Banzaitron is a better, more interesting deco for the mold. But either way, it's a good toy and I would recommend it.

ok since this is a nice little bludgeon/banzaitron thread maybe i can get some help...On of the joints on my banzaitron keeps fallign apart. Specifically its the swivel joint that runs the mech alive feature...it just falls out, any fixes?

I think Banzaitron looks better and if I'd had a choice I would have bought him instead.

I find the toy itself to be rather 'meh' but for 13 it's worth buying.

Again Both, Bludge for the G1 i stand him with generations thunderwing and Skullgrin as new age pretenders.

I only got bonzai last week my self the blue swords alone are worth it but the apps are fresh a very nice change compared to bludg's block green and orange.

I have them both (love the mold) and it's hard to say which one is better. Just get them both

Agreed. I have Bludgeon but passed on the repaint Banzai-tron. Bludgeon is an excellent figure and looks like it will be improved upon by an upcoming 3rd party new head sculpt.

I'm a fan of the Bludgeon colors, but just get whatever color scheme/character appeals to you most. Or both, if you want.
