Got a haul today and this one is included. Made by Bandai in 1998. Most parts are in die cast mixing with plastics. A jet and can fold into something looks like an engine. Thanks.

My first thought would be some form of combiner limb, but it could possibly also be some form of Core Fighter from one of the Gundam Variations...

My guess is that it's some kind of support vehicle for a sentai show or something.

I have no idea what that is, but my first thought was it reminded me of the new Target Exclusive Starscream. Except for the brown canopy instead of red, the rest of the silver, red and even little bit of yellow seem spot on, lol.

Nope. Bandai hasn't used die cast for Super Sentai toys for years now. And 1998 was the year of Gingaman(Power Rangers Lost Galaxy), which had animal mecha.

Can't believe I found it. The key word is XIG sticker (surprisingly still there) on the tail wing (picture didn't show it well).

It's the 1998 Ultraman Gaia Popynica Plus Series CV (container vehicle) toy. The jet is call XIG Fighter EX. As you can see from the link below, in that show all vehicles can fold into a hex container for storage in their base.

It's an original Ultraman Gaia UMW X.I.G. fighter.

Check the last picture on this site:

Very comparable to these more recent models which I was able to find:
