Concerning the Rodimus vs Cyclonus two pack....

I love Cyclonus but was anyone else seriously disappointed with the Rodimus figure? I think that figure may well be the worst looking figure in the classics style line. He is hyper unposeable, (his friggen head dosent even turn!) far to short for rodimus or even hot rod, The fire on his chest is the same color as the rest of the paint so it may as well not even be there. (The fire on his chest is one of the trademark looks rodimus has going for him. How could they mess that up?) his gun is cheesy and to my knowladge he has never sported a gun like that.
Also when in his car mode I hate how they have colored the glass blue. They should have left it clear like the rest of the line. When in car mode next to the rest of the line rodimus looks like a cheap dollar store knock off and it is mostly because of his blue windshield and windows.
Basically we have a figure that deserved lots and lots of attention (seeing as how he is the chosen one and a prime.) but for some reason it looks as if he was rushed. Does anyone know if they intend to release a better version of rodimus prime? Maybe there is already one out that has somehow escaped my attention durring my search.
Now the masterpiece rodimus is friggen awesome! I love how he can transform into either rodimus with the trailor thingie, or hot rod sports car. I know he is a masterpiece and is meant to be far more detailed than the regular figs but why couldnt hasbro have given us something aproaching that quality? They have with the rest of the line. Why drop the ball on rodimus prime?!?!?

First of all, the Rodimus figure is supposed to be Hot Rod - they just can't call it Hot Rod anymore as they lost the name. And, compared to other Classics / Universe / Generations / etc Autobot Cars, he's about the right height as such.
Second, he's one of the first figures that came out, back in 2006:
http://www.tfu.info/2006/Autobot/Classi ... odimus.htmThis means he's not as well engineered as the others, thus his less than bendable shoulders and head.
Finally, this is a repaint, intended to look like the cartoon version. As you can see above, the version from 2006 looks a LOT better, and solves most of your paint job complaints.

im pretty sure someone at hastak saw all the excitement over protector and the price jumps online for him (hot rod) and so we got a rerelease of him. i say that simply because aside from him the only other rerelease we got were the seekers for obvious repaints.

i actually like the bright red hot rod, but it would have been much better if they used translucent blue plastic for the windows.

Love that Cyclonus figure so much. I would have bought this two-pack in a heartbeat if I didn't already own him.

I'm disappointed with Rodimus, yes. I perfer the 2006 Classics release much more than this version, mainly because of the paint. However, there are some minor flaws with my BIS Rodimus, that make me like the classic one more:
1) His left arm falls of at random times
2) Redundancy: The paint
3) The backpack is partially loose
To tell you the truth, I only got that because of the Matrix, Comic, and Cyclonus/Nightstick.
Oh, and he's supposed to be "Hot Rod" but Hasbro lost the trademark to that (like Trailbreaker).

I happen to like my Battle in Space Rodimus, due to his simple color scheme. He already has a designated spot on my Universe 2003 Shelf as a Matrix Templar along with Universe 2003 Snarl (Anybody have Night Slash Cheetor by any chance?), but he didn't stop me from getting the Blear Clear Version, and won't stop me from hunting the Classics or Henkei version as well.

I admit, Cyclonus was a big factor in getting him...

While I don't have this particular version of Rodimus, I do have the one from the three-pack, which is pretty much the same but with a tampographed Autobot symbol instead of the rubsign. Anyway, I like this version, it looks so drastically different from the previous versions that it stands out, unlike the countless other repaints out there that only have miniscule alterations to the original that they seem to blend together (I'm looking at you, movie Bumblebee!).
Plus it lets me display my Protector armor alongside my original Classics for a double Rodimus showcase.

I paid $6 for the 2 pack on clearance at Kamrt just for the accurate Cyclonus and my oldest daughter took Hot Rod and added him to her small TF collection.

Even though I already have Henkei Hot Rod and Cyclonus, I keep debating on this set for the extra Cyclonus and the extras. Is it worth it given my situation?

Wow! Just saw a pic of that protector armor. Where can I get one? Will I have to resort to ebay and if so how many hundreds of dollars will I have to spend?

I have the Henkei Cyclonus as well and the Hasbro 2 pack one is better to me (IMHO), more accurately colored to the Animated one.
