Wa just thinking that a decent trailer would look really good with the new Prime.

No, this has been asked befor and the anser was that he may pull a trailer in the movie but not his trailer.
You'll have to make one yourself.

I kind of hate how they do it these days, first they release a figure, so everyone buys it, and THEN they release the "SUPER ULTIMATE VERSION!!!", so you have to shell out for a duplicate figure just to get the parts the original SHOULD have come with. It's like Special Edition/Ultimate Edition DVD's. Moneygrubbing.

So, I'd rather not see a trailer of any sort released officially, because it's going to cost too much, and to me, it's not that big of a deal to have one.

They call it double dipping. But nothing is forcing you to go buy the second or even third release. If you're happy with just the initial movie then keep what you have. If you're enticed by the extras in the special edtions oh well. Often times if you're following the releases they will tell you months in advance about the special editions so you can just wait.

As for special edition figures it depends on if you think the part is important enough. Personally the Perfect Edition of MP Prime isn't perfect enough. I just know at some point they are going to announce a new version with Roller. Add to that the fact that the place I have the MPs displayed right now doesn't leave room for another figure much less the trailer and it is extremely unimportant to me.

Yeah, I was mainly using the DVDs as a comparison, it's just another industry that does the same thing.

I just wish they'd announce the 'better' versions of figures at the same time as the original, so people would have a choice. Often, people buy the first release because it's the only thing out there. And in our world of collecting, if you don't pick up a figure when you get a chance, you're SOL. If they'd announce these upgraded releases sooner, people could wait on it and get the version they really want.

But then, of course, the companies would make less money.

One thing I noticed today is that even though there's a slight scale difference, Movie Voyager and Classics Primes can both pull the same trailer...

I had always hoped that in a movie Prime would be hauling a trailer, transform, but instead of the trailer being discarded or just disappearing (like in the toon), he'd pick it up like a baseball bat and wail on a Decepticon.

It would collapse if swung, and the area he would grab it by would crumple on itself.

But it would still be sick.

Even better. The highway scene. He's driving, pulling the trailer behind. Some decepticon is waiting for him on the highway about a mile ahead. He unhitches the trailer, transforms and jumps up, flips back and gives the trailer some extra momentum by issueing a hard kick to the rear of it before he lands. The trailer with the extra speed crashes into the Decepticon. Then after that he says screw it and never pulls one again.

why can't the trailer transform into a big cannon? Or something Prime could fly on. or a bed and a teddy bear for him to sleep on? I don't like trailerless Primes, they just don't look right.

The Leader Prime figure is only JUST a smaller scale than the MP-1 Prime, and hauls his trailer very convincingly. I didnt buy the MP-4 Prime with a trailer though, I bought a EBay knockoff trailer, but I think they are the same size.

Might try and get some pics later.

Why do I get the feeling, since all the returning characters in the sequel will get upgrades/new form(to sell new toys), we'll get Prime upgraded with a trailer?

I hate when Prime combines with his trailer. Prime doesn't need a super mode. Prime is supposed to be the most badass Transformer around with maybe only Megatron really being able to give him a decent fight. A super mode just indicates some sort of deficientcy in his regular mode.

I got tired of him being able to merge w/ his trailer myself. He seriously had a deficiency in the RID and Armada series. And that deficiency is made even worse when he combined w/ Ultra Magnus! Now I thought the combining was cool until it became cliche.
Personally, I don't see any reason why the trailer can't just transform into a battle platform like the original. I think it could work even in the live action movies.

I wouldn't mind if he combined with his trailer. I just hate that it's a super mode. Why can't they have his trailer become part of the actual transformation to his robot mode? Like without it he'll be missing parts of himself. Like RID Ultra Magnus.

Yea, I think I could live with that. Integrating the trailer into the transfomation. Just no more super modes.

Bah, we have had super modes in every mainline Optimus since Power Master Prime. It is time for something different.
