Please help I.D. Legit or KO?

Hey guys, my bro recently came into possession of this little bugger:

It looks like it's Metalman from Microman:

However, it doesn't have any markings that I can find. And the place where it looks like there would be a marking is blank:

So basically, is this a KO, or a legit Microman? The plastic feels sturdy, and the lower legs might be diecast. However, it came in a lot of GoBots and Transformers, so I have my doubts. Were these guys released in some other format in the U.S.?

Finally, what are these guys worth, and what's their rarity?

Hmm... i dont know too terribly much bout microman... but judging from the die cast wear on the legs... im sure your getting the real thing. You expect KOs to be made after the figure is long out of production and there is a demand for it ... these newer KOs wouldent have the die cast wears on his legs...

Also, have you considered Bakugan?

I have a silver KO of the bird, so KOs of this might exist. However my guy fits together extremely poorly and is made of thin plastic. If yours is quality it just might be legit.

Yep, the plastic seems pretty good, though it does take a little finagling to get the legs into the proper position for it's transformed mode. However, that might be due to the age of the figure.

Overall I really like the figure, it's just got a neat design, surprisingly well executed transformation, and I'd love to find the other two someday. It's a great mold and shouldn't be as hard to find as it is.

Bakugan never dawned on me. But, now that you mention it, I definitley see the similarities. The three molds were recolored and used for minions/heralds/whatever of Unicron in Kiss Players, and they'd fit in great with Unicron's Mini-con for Dead End. Bakugan's would probably also work well and fit in nicely. So if I ever find a bunch for super cheap at a yard sale or something I'd be more inclined to buy them.

I've seen dozens of those transforming tiny balls Bakugan's toys in stores. while searching for TF toys. I don't recall any tiny balls bakugan toy having a robot mode. the ones I see in stores only have animal modes inside those tiny bakugan's balls.

Also for the american releases of those tiny bakugan's balls. they look all plastic, with no diecast metal parts.

perhaps this thing in the pic is a rocklord from the 1980's or a BWneo/2nd TF Eggbot.

Nah, it's either M-14 Metor Robo/Metal Man, as I stated/linked in my original post, or a high quality KO of one

As an aside, the Eggbot released during the Japanese Beast Wars series and Stardust of Kiss Players actually has a remolded face and chest. I wonder why they did that?
