Now before Im shot I need to say that I dont know for sure if it is universe or classics. The one I am refering to is the one that goes in scale with the generations, universe and classics line.
He has car doors on his back like prowl and jazz.
Anyway what are your thoughts on him and can you recomend any other shock wave that would fit into the generations scale? If someone could post a pic of the figure Im talking about Id aprieciate it.
Thanks. :D

I'm thinking your talking about the alternators version? Not positive, but that sounds like it. I'd love to see a generations or RTS version though. If Generations it could go either way with WFC or the Classics way.

I don't own this toy, but I've always thought it looked great. Ascetically it could fit with 'classics', but the at 1/24 the scale would be way off.

He looked fine in my display, but I had MP Prime and Megs there to keep him company. My Classics display isn't "pure".

If you want proper scale, there's the Energon version. Hate the colors on him myself. I'm hoping we'll get a Classics Shockwave eventually, though. With the movie giving him hype it could yet happen.

Jester head posted the one im refering to. Thanks jester. I cant tell if I truely like him, or if Im just so in need of a shock wave for my collection that Im fooling myself.
So there is an energon version hu? I need to look for that pic. I have problems sorting through some of the totally friggen awesome customs though and am always let down when I find that the one im lookin at is indeed a custom.
How about that dotm shock wave? Is he friggen bad a$$ or what? If he was to scale I would have bought him long ago, but alas......he is not.
So, whats the max you guys think I should pay for that shockwave? (the one jester posted pics of) How about the energon shockwave?
Thanks folks! :)

I have Energon Shockwave (though he's called Shockblast). I want the Alternator Shockwave as I need to finish that line and he's awesome looking. But my fave Shockwave atm is my DOTM one. I just love how he looks and he goes well within a battle scene. Not sure what scale you are wanting but the two I have are VC size. Though I think my Energon version one may be a bit taller.

Too be honest I've found that DoTM Shockwave looks great and i feel he fits into the Classics line to a certain point. i have him standing next to Henkie Megs and WFC Soundwave and all 3 looks awesome together, but its whatever you prefer.

We need a Masterpiece Shockwave.

I'll probably pick up the Dotm Shockwave. Ever since I got rid of Energon Shockblast, the only Shockwaves I've owned are Animated (True Colors) and the Robot Hero.

Energon Shockblast is awesome.

Check the galleries here at Seibertron: http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/toys/galleries/

However DOTM Shockwave is also pretty cool. Robot mode is quite intimidating, and tank mode is o.k for a Cybertronian tank.

I don't personally own alternators Shockwave but he looks cool, though he is a Mazda car so he's out of scale with everything except maybe human alliance figures.

Personally though the best Shockwave is:

O.k o.k, so he's was called Shockwave in Japan, in the west he was Tidal Wave. Still he's very very cool.

I purchased that figure for a good friend of mine years ago, before the Classics line came out. I never picked one up for myself, but I think he would fit well in a Classics display compared to other interpretations of the character. Until Hasbro/Takara/3rd Party decides he's long overdue for a revision. Maybe with Shockwave's role in the new movie and some fan reaction, we might get a new mold.

My thought the other day was to kitbash Lugnut for SW, but I don't have the skills to accomplish this. I would want the front windows redeco'ed to look more like SW's chest, and of course switch out the right fist for a gun.

I like him... i dont own one but fidlled with one before. I say, if you getting a shockwave, go with the DOTM version. Well it has better proportions in bot mode, and more menacing just like a decepticon should be. The alternators one just looks too fat and squat especially with car torso and car boots. :D

No, the Alternators are in different scale. They are a bit bigger. I have a few Alternators, but not him. I wish I would have gotten him, though. I have Meister (Jazz), and that particular mold is my favorite of the series.

No the Alternators of which Mazda Shockwave is a part of, are larger. As was mentioned before they are about Human Alliance sized. The scale with the movie figures that come with small drivers now. Like Bumblebee, and Black Sideswipe.

Lets put it in numbers: Special Ops Jazz is about 5 inches tall, while Mazda Shockwave is about 8 inches tall. In Car mode Mazda Shockwave is about 3 times as big as Jazz.

Going back to the subject of Shockwave figures, I still really annoyed that Hasbro cancelled the final wave of Titanium figures and we didn't get this sweet Shockwave figure:

To be exact, the Alternators are roughly Voyager sized, maybe a hair bigger in some cases. My Alternators Hound is almost the exact same size as my 2007 Premium Ironhide when in robot mode, and a little bit bulkier (there's also a lot more empty space).

I don't see anything sweet about that figure. For starters it would have been scaled to the rest of the Titanium line which had laughably small heads and overly bulky proportions. Second, that line was some straight up, no balance, paint chipping garbage. I bought and kept 3 of the better ones and I hold no delusion that they're quality toys. Lastly, those legs are ridiculously long. I'd love a good Shockwave figure like a lot of us would and I'd settle for this. That's what it would be though, settling. Not satisfaction. I use none of the previously discussed figures as stand-ins. They're certainly nice figures in their own lines. They simply don't fit Classics well enough.

Oh man! I think that figure looks sweet as hell though!
Ofcourse you cant tell by looking at the pic that the paint chips and in alot of cases its exceedingly difficult to tell scale of theese figures when they are standing alone. I can sort of see why you have an issue with the length of his legs and size of his head, but I dont see it as so bad at all.
So the plug was pulled on this guy to hu? Whats with the lack of love for ol shockwave? Im holding faith that dotm shockwave will spark enough interest in him to merrit a generations version of shockwave.
Im hoping for a more vintage looking soundwave as well. Cyber s.w. is o.k., but not quite close enough to the original for me. Still, I had to get him so my decepticon army would have soundwave.

Grumpy, grumpy aren't we Flux?

While I agree there were some bad figures in the line, O.k o.k. I admit there were some disasters in the line like G.I. Joe Megatron, and Soundwave, I've had no paint chipping issues in any of the 7 I own. Not sure how you are treating them, but mine are just fine. Of note is that they are die cast, and not really toys for kids even Hasbro would have wanted them to be. This line is more for just looking nice than for handling, because they do have some weak joints. However, I can say the seeker mold, the Fallen and WWI Prime are good figures in their own right.

Most of the Titanium line drew from the War Within aesthetic so if you are going to complain about the aesthetic then complain to Simon Furman and Don Figueroa, as they designed the look, and for what its worth Hasbro got it dead on to the comics. Small heads bulky upper bodies.

As far as Shockwave, goes, the size would have been about a smallish deluxe and as for the paint, there's no way to know, the picture is photoshopped to add the colors in. The only thing we got was the prototype resin mold so it was basically gray.
I photoshopped the colors into the picture back when it was first shown, so they may look a little too rich.

I agree to completely disagree. I have that Prime and he's a floppy mess. I treat my toys very well, thank you. The paint issues with the painted over metal shouldn't exist in this age. It's sad that there are G1 toys with smoother more intact paint jobs than that line produced. To call me grumpy because I pointed out the faults in a figure and the line it came from with facts is a little silly.

I'm sure Hasbro or a 3rd Party will do a decent Classics Shockwave at some point... (There actually is a Hearts of Steel Shockwave in the works which looks fantastic, though questionable how well he really fits with what Classics is:
http://mastermindcreation.blogspot.com/ ... -mode.html )

Anyhow, I have Alternators Shockblast, and while I think he looks really cool (and is a quite nice fig to boot,) he seems too big with the other Classics figs for my liking, but I would use him before Energon's. And I find the movie version too aesthetically conflicting. That Titaniums fig would have been an acceptable stand-in from the looks of it, though.

Of all the Titanium figures I own (admittingly, not many), I just like Rodimus, the Fallen, and Scourge. The Fallen best out of the lot and he's the only one not replaced by now.

I think that Titanium Shockwave would have been nice. And the Cosmos from that wave too. The Arcee was rubbish, though.

However, even the best Titaniums come with flaws and really are a mixed bag. Gimme a real Classics release any day of the week. Even a good redeco of the Energon mold would be acceptible, however I think the chances of that are slim to none.
