The Dual Model Kits come out in Japan today and blogger Alfes2010 has put up some hi-res photos of the Optimus kit in the process of being put together.

Not only do the photos give an informative look at the construction process but Alfes2010 advises that putting the figures together is complicated and that he needed to refer to the instructions often...so good luck to those who are importing this set.

Damn these look nice, but its a shame that they're so expensive.

Someone put some clothes on that Prime, he's creeping me out!

In all seriousness, I have this preordered and I am anxiously awaiting it! I hope soon, because I'm gearing up to move by August 1st and I don't want to have to change the shipping address I listed months ago. :BANG_HEAD:

too small? it's the size of a leader class figure.. that way it'll fit in better with the rest of everyone movie collections. which is smart if you ask me.

$120 doesn't seem too outrageous to me. model planes where i work go for around $40 and this is far more advanced, it's painted, there are different colors, super articulation, and a metal base body. also factor in that these have to be imported, and the prices isn't too outrageous.. sure i wish it were lower, but it's not unreasonable.

anyways. i seriously can't wait for this to get released. it's beautiful. the more difficult the better. i want this to be something that i can work on for a good chunk of time.

i really hope we get a dual model megatron, or starscream, or shockwave. any large decepticon really, even if it's blackout or bonecrusher.

Dude, blackout and bonecrusher would be the high points of all this, but that won't happen. just hope for megatron and shockwave. those are the most likely candidates.

Right now I'm salivating over the possibility of a DOTM Megatron dual model kit. If they don't make a LC fig of Megs, owning a super-accurate bot mode version of him would be a worthy consolation.

A Shockwave model kit would be perfect, seeing as he's probably not going to transform in the movie, anyway.

Yesterday we saw Japanese Transfan and photographer Alfes2010's first steps in assembling Dual Model Kit Optimus Prime. Now his hard work has paid off and he has a detailed, hi-Res gallery of the fully assembled figure, including comparison shots with ROTF Leader Optimus.

Y'know, the Jetwings OP surprisingly holds its own next to the dual model kit. Sure, the latter is more movie-accurate and has some delicious chrome, but Jetwings OP's not too shabby either, considering he actually has to transform into a pretty accurate truck mode.

So it's a tad bit shorter and smaller than the LC figure huh o.O...He looks frickin awesome but looks like Revoltech Optimus wins this time.

Here's why :-

1) I dont need another huge prime...For crying out loud I dont even own ONE huge Megs...

2) The revoltech is smaller and he fits well with my Voyager Megs very well since he's pretty much the size of a Deluxe TF :D.

3) I prefer the guns on the Revoltech rather than the swords on this guy.

Though I gotta say the whole "Skeletal to Armored" robot system is really cool :D. But yeah...

Nice size comparisons! Love how big he is!
1,000 times better then that revoltech guy.
plus, you get to build him, so that's even better!
EDIT:
Oh and crimson, I'm not trying to flame you, I didn't see your comment until just now, but I'm just saying, I Do humbly disagree.

Mannn !!! You always succeed in making me "LMFAO" in your dumbness LOL XD ! 1000 times better? Unless you have some sight issue then yes it is 1000x I suppose. Let's see the only diff between the two is :-

1) Size
2) Articulation
3) Solidness
4) Weapons
5) Able to build from scratch
6) The maker

But other than that...The whole paint, detail and lookness thing...They pretty much look the same. Like I said...Unless you have some sight issue, this guy and Revoltech Optimus is pretty much the same >.>...Please stop make dumb comments from now on kay? I'm really getting tired of it by now...

The product without any touchup looks decent. But I'll still panel line and ink it to hell.

1- this one fits in better with the rest of the movie collection.. and since he's a little smaller he's more in scale with leader starscream and sentinel. we've only had two leader primes. this isn't bumblebee where he's gotten a bunch of unnecessarily large molds.

2- fair point. but for me i'd rather him fit in with my leader class figures. if we get a leader or dual model megatron or shockwave it'll be perfect.

3- the guns are okay. but personally i think the dual model swords are the best prime swords we've gotten yet. and when i think of prime from the movies.. i think of the swords. but it's awesome that they included all of those weapons for revoltech prime.

and here's where i disagree with you completely.. revoltech prime doesn't win, they both do lol. and you are a perfect example of why it's great that we're getting both. all of your points are valid and warrant a revoltech prime. mine are the opposite which is why the dual model fits me better. so it's a win win.

bbts better get these things in stock soon. i hope it takes me a decent amount of time putting this together. i can't wait.. however i still haven't decided whether or not i want to add paint detailing and weathering.
