I Require Assistance Understanding This

Just so you know, this might sound insulting, but I really am not here to insult people, these are just my honest thought processes, if you take offense then just go ahead and complain about it.

DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime

$65 with shipping.

Voyager size with a trailer that turns into armor.

Why in the hell do people think that this is a good price point for this figure? I do not comprehend. I paid about $25 (about, can't remember the average price for voyagers at the moment) for jungle attack/recon Ironhide and it's excellent. This Optimus Prime looks awesome, sure, but if they're asking me to pay more for this than a leader class figure then they are double retarded!

I just looked at toys r us's website and they have leader class figures for about $65 (or close too it because I added 5 bucks for tax and I can't be buggered to calculate it properly). I don't see any reason why this guy should cost more than a leader figure other than they know that people will pay out the ass for him because he has a trailer!

I know it sounds like I'm calling the people who do want to buy this stupid for thinking it's a good price, but I don't mean to, I really don't. What you guys do with your money is your own business, but I just cannot understand how this is a good deal, please tell me why, I want to understand!

Well, he is the biggest Optimus Prime toy. It says so on the box. I see a quick move to clearance him out.

They're probably counting the wingspan and spikes in their measurements. Unless the armor makes him Suprime sized.

Yeah, he looks lame. I'd rather drop more money and get something better. The size of Prime isn't important. I want something functional and meaningful. He looks o.k. in alt mode, but his robot modes kill it for me. I won't care about the price because I won't get it, unless I can pick it up for like $30.

Um, The Prime itself is fairly large I think. The trailer is also quite large.

Also $65 compared to the orginally anticipated $90. I'd say that's a good deal and smart move from Hasbro.

Where EXACTLY did the group of internet TF fans hear/see/read that The regular robot mode is voyager size??

It appears the regular non-combining Robot mode is leader size.

as noticed the trailer armor (minus the angel wings) doesn't add any height to the figure. their doesn't appear to any boots. at best the foot pads add about a inch.

I ordered the DOTM Ultimate Optimus Prime toy from the Walm-mart.com web site. it was a steal of a deal as they offered free shipping to the home address.

I should have the toy in under a week & i'll let everyone here know exactly what toy size the regular non-combining robot mode is.

I have these down to a precise measurement. deluxes are around 5 inches to 6 inches tall. voyagers are around 5 3/4 to 7 inches tall. $27 usa ultra's are around 6.2 inches to 7 3/4 inches tall. leader sized toys are around 8.5 inches tall to 10.3 inches tall.

OFCAUSE THEIR ARE the occassional odd balls, that have stretched out robot modes with no mass bulk/width. examples: animated & ROTF Deluxe lockdown. Beastmachines mega sized Cheetor.

I like the fact that all 3 (2007/ROTF/DOTM) Movie verse leader sized optimus primes are all radically different designs.

Yeah i'm in the camp that THINKS the ultimate optimus primes regular non-combining robot mode is leader sized.

It looks pretty big to me. Here's Michael Bay and Rosie-Carlyface-Whatshername holding one.

This review will show you how big it is, assuming the guy's hands are average.

I think it's overpriced. And awful looking. The armour DOES add height.

I don't consider this to be 'big' just because he has giant flaps that can point upwards. I measure height to the top of the head.

thanks for the u-tube video link.

regular non-combining prime toy does look voyager or $27 ultra size.

the trailer reminds me of a pretender shell or the armor exosuit that the takara brave toy king exkaiser uses.

the toy doesn't look that bad in either of the modes.

my only real beef is that the combined robot mode has a tiny pin head for a robot head. having a voyager/ultra head on the combined leader sized toy just doesn't look right

Hahaha I'll enjoy seeing him compared to your Takara DOTM voyager in alt mode. Speaking of, I think you should lease that toy to me for a week. You know, so I can open it. He's feeling neglected and under-appreciated.

Two is good. I used to do two, but now I'm thinking that five is kind of the money, ya know?

(I actually do think this is a terrible toy)

I kinda wish I saw this u-tube in this thread EARLER before I ordered the toy from walmart.com.

At the very least the walmart stores accept on-line returns which is agood thing. if I don't open the box & return it with the on-line receipt inside the shipping box.

Honestly I don't mind the optimus prime combiners. I think having a voyager cmbining with a trailer to create a leader sized toy is a fantastic idea.

WHAT I DIS-LIKE is the fact the combined robot+trailer mode still has the tiny voyager robot head. at the very least Hasbro/Takara could have incorporated 2 robot heads within the voyager robot mode. like they did for the energon 5-in-1 deluxe core leaders & the PCC Core leaders. or maybe put a outer helmet on the trailer that fits over the smaller voyager robot head to make it look bigger. like hasbro did for the energon leader sized optimus prime toy.

At this point I'm wondering if the voyager head can come off & be replaced by a leader sized optimus prime movie verse head. to make the combiner robot mode not have a pin/tiny robot voyager head.

I wonder if the voyager robot head was made a bit bigger & over sized. resulting in the voyager robot mode having a huge out of place head. so the combined leader sized robot head doesn't look tiny.

Dudes, this isn't a Voyager class toy with a trailer/armour, it's a Leader Class toy with a trailer/armour.

Also I think it's horrible, I'll only be getting the Dual Model kit Prime and the Chronicles deluxe Prime from DOTM, this toy-line looks terrible.

That's exactly what I thought until I saw the u-tube video in this thread.

I suspose i'll know for sure the size of the regular robot mode. as I ordered it from walmart.com & it should arrive in a few days.

I've seen it in person, it's not really leader class. It's close, but it's not.

that's what i'm at least hoping for.

At this point i'd settle for a $27 usa ultra sized figure instead of a voyager.

voyager TF robot modes usually average out between 6 inches to 7 inches tall. while

$27 USA ultra sized TF robot modes usually average out between 6 & 1/2 inches tall to 7 3/4 inches tall.

Animated did have a few short leader sized toys like: leader sized megatron who was 8 inches tall in robot mode. while leader sized bulkhead was around 7 & 3/4 inches tall in robot mode. both toys were extremly bulky & wide+heavy so they'd be considered leader sized toys.

IMHO,Honestly the DOTM Ultimate regular non-combining optimus prime robot mode is very light, not bulky & not wide. So if the regular non-combining robot mode is around 8 inches tall it'll be considered a $27 USA ultra sized robot mode.

I think the Prime figure may be just under the size of a Cybertron Ultra.

I was referring to a comparison pic between this in alt mode and the Takara voyager that comes with the trailer.
