DotM Ironhide, I'm calling you out.

Ironhide...you used to be so cool.

We used to hunt down punk-ass Decepticons, step on small dogs, and every once in a while you would take me to the gun show.

But since you landed a role in Dark of the Moon, you've been acting strange. Showing up in new packaging, loosing weight, ignoring your old buddy ratchet...you've changed man.

Remember how proud you were of your awesome guns? I mean, they were essentially your most memorable characteristic. Sometimes, you would even bounce around in the streets purely on cannon fire. Now where are they? Why would you give up your hobby so easily? Why are you over compensating with that...thing:
Image

You used to take better care of yourself too. I remember always being impressed with that high-gloss finish of yours and it doesn't matter how suave Bumblebee looked, you were as sparkly as the tooth-fairy. But now...you can't even get a consistent coat of wax:
Image

Your work ethic is really bad as well. There was a time when your truck bed was closed up because it was full of awesome. Now your bed-liner is broken down and your friends are afraid you have pick-up truck leprosy:
Image

Last thing and then I'll give you some time to think this over...all those steroids are really taking a toll. I think part of your chest has collapsed or that you've suffered a stroke because one side of your body seems to be drooping no matter how we align your chest. Please, don't make us watch you self-destruct:
Image

We want what's best for you Ironhide and I'm afraid that if you don't straighten up, something terrible might happen to you very, very soon.

Your friend,

-Counterpunch

Ironhide's response:

"Check out my 'Leader' form."

No with less big guns!

Think of Voyager DOTM Ironhide as what was left after Ironhide spent weeks purging and purifiying to become the ultimate Chuck Norris/Bruce Wayne/Sean Connery that Leader became. The Voyager is like all the disappointment and anger and it became a sentient, tiny version of Ironhide. Like that Next Generation episode "Skin of Evil" where Tasha Yar died...

Actually, I like the Voyager. The transformation is fun. I don't like the cannon, but he's not too bad. DOTM Skids is bad. Voy Ironhide is just "meh".

Hilarious !

On a side note: this weekend I just bought my 1st DOTM toy (Crankcase), and the quality is really low compared to the average ROTF toy :-(

I'm still laughing that despite all his protests, CP has been sucked into the DOTM toys like we all though he would be. I stuck to my guns. :P

I've actually been really good. A lot of the stuff I bought was for the fun of it while out with buddies during a TF gathering. I think I'm either at, or right under 10 pieces from the entire line.

I believe DOTM Voyager Ironhide is one of the most accurate Ironhides we've gotten, and he keeps together well, but Recon Ironhide from ROTF is beast, too, as well as Leader Ironhide. I can't pick a side :-(

Don't pick the voyager for most accurate. Too tall, too skinny, and without arm cannons.

Agreed, its like Ironhide spark was split in two. The good Ironhide became a leader class figure and guardian of Earth. The evil in Ironhide was given a new voyager mold with chicken legs and was stripped of his cannons. Forever, he will try to be as good as the Leader and fail. (kind of like a DBZ Piccolo thing).

Bad doesn't even begin to describe that piece of junk.

I'm just bustin' chops. I bought the Cyberverse Powerglide and that's been all. I'm flirting with the idea of some of the HA basics and most likely the Larger HA Leadfoot. Otherwise, I really just don't dig any of them.

I have a few of the DOTM figures and I'm not really digging the gimicy weapons is all.I will probably chuck most if not all the guns in a ziplock big and set them in a shoebox somewhere.

Odd, my IH doesn't suffer from those issues. His chest is fine and his plastic vehicle panels all seem to match, unlike the old voyager mold I have.

It's just those friggin arms and shoulders that make mine suck so much. :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

Most amusing CP! I had dismissed him long ago as not worth buying so didn't look at the gallery at all.

Wow. Seriously? Is he really that bad?

I have him, and I really like him. He's my favorite MechTech voyager so far. Yeah, he's a little compact, and yes he only has ONE gun, but I like him nonetheless. I just have a little trouble with the MechTech weapon; it won't lock like it should, and every time I try to use the gatling gun feature it feels like the gears are "sticking" or "catching". But overall I thought he was worth buying at full price.

Yes.

He's missing his key characteristic.

He doesn't peg together.

His arms are terrible.

His alt mode is marred by the mix and match gloss sections and truck bed.

On the positive side, his transformation is really kind of clever, but the 2007 version is STILL better than this and it's upgradable with the various weapons and heads from later releases.

Some sections are glossier than others? Hmm...guess I haven't seen him in the light.
I don't have any of the '07 or '08 or '09 versions of him sadly. However, I do have Recon Ironhide, who turned out to be total slag with horrible QC but worth what I paid for him, which was half price. I guess I'll have to get the '07 or '09 versions to really compare.

Yea, the gloss thing really bothers me because that was a selling point to me. The difference is that some parts are painted black and some are black plastic.

The 2007 Ironhide with NESTS Ironhide's head and guns is the way to go.

Yeah, I just hate paying Leader Class price minimum for a Voyager. :BANG_HEAD: :BOOM:
Maybe he'll be a Christmas present...

Kitbash then, man. Take Recon Ironhide's cannons and put them on. It's not that hard.

Too tall? My ROTF, Recon, and 2007 Ironhides are taller than him...

i think it would be a tie between leader IH and voyager IH for me. the DOTM voyager is just awesome, but the leader i cant say since i dont have him yet

See? I'm not the only one who thinks DOTM Ironhide's cool.

And I finally fixed his cannon. Had to disassemble it and put everything back again and now it locks. Well, sort of. It's better than it used to be.

I like my DOTM Ironhide, VC. I got rid of my '07 movie Ironhide (which I shouldn't have done) and that was the main reason why I got DOTM Ironhide, to replace the other one. I haven't put him in truck mode yet (tried and he was pissing me off too much so I gave up). I do want to get LC Ironhide once I get the money and can find him.

Huh...I have almost zero trouble transforming him. If you keep doing it over and over you'll get it. But if you want difficulty, get Leader Sentinel Prime. He takes a while to get the hang of.

I usually just keep them in 'bot mode anyways. And I was so close to getting Leader Sentinel Prime today.

Lol for some reason your comment reminded me of that Arnold/ Danny Devito movie Twins. Anyone here old enough to remember that? The best of the parents' genes went into Arnold and what was left over became... Danny. "I'm... genetic garbage..."
