DOTM Skyhammer

Howdy folks!

I was lucky enough to pick up Skyhammer today at Tesco. Good news for all of us in the UK... I didn't expect him to be released so soon.

Opinion: Great!

Good quality plastic, good paint. Tight joints. Feels solid and sturdy.

Transformation is tight, intuitive and smart.

He poses and stands really well. His blades don't get in the way or break like I thought they would. I didn't remove them for transformation.

Some piccies, friends!

What I want to know is, is he pulling something out, or pushing something in?

He took Shockwave's sword and is using it to stab him in the back.

How dishonourable. In the back... What did he do before that? Scream like a girl (er, no offense) and poke him in the eye?

We all know Skyhammer would take Shockers apart, anyway. ^_^ In a fair fight, of course. Or maybe he could fly up into the stratosphere and drop a piano on him.

This guy looks pretty awesome, probably the only one not appearing in the movie I want to get from DOTM...
If only the Sword could attach somewhere else that made it fuse in more.

Also, I wonder, with a Head swap and some paint, he might make a good movie Vortex...

Cool pics AdamPrime! That first one makes it look huge! I have this figure, a friend sent him from the States (there are some great people on Seibertron) but I haven't opened him yet. It's disappointing that he isn't in the film - the Autobots could really use some larger guys.

They aren't removable, the instructions are wrong and newer figures have corrected instructions.

But yeah, he's a great figure and probably my favorite of the DOTM voyagers.

Couldn't it be attached to the mechtech port in his arm?

It sticks out a lot though, I meant as for a more "integrated" look.

Thanks Mykltron! Taking pics of my toys is something of an occassional hobby. I hope I'm proof that you don't need an expensive camera or set-up to take good pictures. A "macro" mode and some good sunlight are all you need!

Zenosaurus, I know what you mean about the sword thing. I consigned mine to the bottom of the toybox, I mean, it looks pretty silly when he's holding it, it's bigger than his actual arm. I would rather have a properly-scaled sword that did nothing, than a geared-up oversized 'transforming' version.

I just came out of the movie, I was hoping that Skyhammer would be in it!

Yup, me too. Although I reckon the exhaust ports are s'posed to be used as lasers or cannons in robot mode. Oh well, better to have too many weapons than too few!

I gave my Skyhammer Backfire as a weapon.

What, his head? On his arm?

Sunlight? I've heard of it but don't know what it is. I don't think we have that in England. Try a bright torch (if you have one. I mean BRIGHT) with a sheet of thin white paper over the end as a diffuser. It gives a softer, ambient light. Good light, less strong shadows.

Ah, yes, I see. I guess I'll have to get myself a decent torch! I only have one of them windy-uppy ones... it's bright enough to poke a hole in your retinas, but is very small.

Good for pics of Micromasters, I suppose.
