Hey everybody! We all know that Blackout's automorph is a pain in the arse to get to work properly...but now I have a new problem with my Blackout!

I'm working on getting him into alt mode...getting everything lined up...but the front of the 'chopper won't stay put...it keeps wanting his head to pop around!

Does anybody know how I can get this stupid fixed so his alt mode stays put properly?!

1.) Put him in vehicle mode. (Let the nose/head flop as it does)

2.) Leave the arm up, and out of the way on the right side of the figure.

3.) Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws on the side of the copter (which becomes his shoulders in robot mode).

4.) You'll see gear teeth on the assembly that holds his waist in place, plus teeth on the head/nose assembly.

5.) Line up the nose as it would for vehicle mode, make sure the rest of the body is holding tight for vehicle mode, and gently force the teeth together, fitting the grooves.

You'll see that it's now solid, and won't budge. Put the side back on, put the screws back in, and voila. He's fixed. If the teeth jump again, just repeat.

Thanks a million, Autobot032! This automorph is the downfall of this particular figure...imagine how many kids are going to be frustrated at theirs/break theirs?

But is this really a kids movie?

Oh plenty will break. That's a given. Fortunately it's an easy fix, so any parent with even a modicum of ability should be able to correct it.

I'd say it's a family film, meaning it will cover everyone in the family...except kids.

'Though that depends on the kid. Some are far more mature than others, so it all depends.

I dont like the automorph feature on Blackout, I'd rather it have been manual with a definite click once rotated into place. Otherwise, I love the way he looks.

Agreed. But, on the plus side, finding one of these toys intact with a working gimmick years down the road could prove to be difficult...so that may work in our favor, making them worth a bit more! hehe

I actually got my Blackout's automorph to work rather well, but the legs don't stay in too well. Oh well, he's awesome.

the problem with autobot032's method was that i was having to do it every half an hour. so i cracked him open, chopped off the gears and put him back together. in both modes he is very secure as well

I too am having a problem with my Blackout. I thought I'd post here instead of creating a new thread.

The problem I'm having is when hes in vehicle mode, his legs arent clicking into place to the top of the figure. so if i were to hold him at the front or anywhere but the legs, they fall otu of place. I line up the parts that are meant to connect into place, but it just doesnt seem to stay. Any ideas?
