I admit I only bought him so I could switch heads with the normal deluxe BB (which I think is great, better then BBs Bumblebee), I was hoping I'd still like the nitro figure enough to tolerate his existence. Errrrrrr! Wrong.

What a crock of engineering crap.

- Short gimpy legs
- not enough arm movement since he only has a shoulder ball joint and an elbow bend. No swivels or wrist joints.
- mechtech sucks
- A bumblebee that you can't get the doors up over him for his wings? Yuck
- front wheels that fold back to form kibble on what should be his door wings
- his chest panels suck.
- his hip kibble pieces from the quarter panels of car suck.

But he was more then happy to donate his head.

Actually... he's NOT that bad. He's a LOT better than a LOT of figures out there, if you don't mind the Bayverse stylings.

I was wondering how that worked out for you. Put up some pics of the head swap.

Confirmed, this figure is hot garbage.

Is the regular DOTM Bee any good? I kinda want a DOTM Bumblebee, but I don't know which to get. I also heard that we are getting a more updated Bumblebee in a later wave. I don't want another 3 Bumblebee when I have 4 already. Same goes for Prime (though I'm avoiding all the DOTM Primes).

It looks better. But the ball joints on the neck are slightly off. Nitro's head going onto the regular deluxe fits loose and moves easily. It also can't look up at all, without doing some cutting. (Which I haven't yet). The head going from deluxe to nitro is the opposite. It fits very snugly to nitro's neck joint and is extremely stiff to move. But has full range of motion.






I will, reluctantly, admit that nitro has at least an interesting alt mode that holds together well and has several more mechtech ports then the standard deluxe. Other then that, he's pretty lame.

Edit - I also had to kind of give a laugh of pity today when I was looking at the Walmart exclusive BB and saw that it's the 07 movie mold piece for piece. Right down to the transformering blaster/energon sword weapon. Pretty sad to revive that mold with such better molds out now.

Wow, I didn't realize how bad Nitro BB was. Which sucks cause his alt mode looks ok actually. But yeah, transformed, blah.

His head turned out good though, through the swap. Does it get in the way of transforming?

I have the Walmart Exclusive Bee, and I'm going to hold out for the Cyberfire version. Sorry, I'm a sucker for flames.

I'm not sure which one is which, but I know I like the one on the right in the pic.

I like the regular Bee very much. I think he's much better looking then the HFTD Battle Blades Bee from about a year ago or so. And that seems to be the standard around here for a good movie BB. The DOTM regular BB is just a very good representation I think, and the transformation isn't as fiddly as before. Most screen accurate version to date IMO.

I am still a very big proponent of the original 07 model. I still think it had the best tranformation, and the chest articulation is still my favorite from all the designs so far. As far as Nitro BB, I think it is "hot garbage" and I wish I never got it. I was definitely disappointed in the figure. I like what Pontimax did with the head though, so I guess the figure is useful.

There are a lot of crappy figures from the latest movie line, and that is disappointing. I still think a lot of the 07 movie designs are as good or better than what we are currently seeing. All I can say is that I am happy to save the money and use it on figures I like. Barricade, for example, is a pile of crap (imo) compared to the original design. That was another figure I wasted money on, unfortunately.

At this point, I am looking forward to what might become from another Classics/Universe/Generation line and what kind of possibilities there might be in some of the lines that I still have not completed.

He's definitely better than Nitro Bee, but not without small flaws of his own. He badly needs some gray paint on his calves, but that's an easily solved problem.

Secondly, there's a small hollow spot on his shins. You see, DOTM Bee inherited HFTD B attle Balde BB's leg design, and the cog that was part of HTFD Battle Blade Bee's automorph leg transformation was used to fill up the plastic quota [along with various other minor parts] to make his mechtech BFG. With the cog gone, there's now a hollow space in the middle of his shin.

Not a deal breaker, but just thought you might want to know.

Nitro's head looks so much better on DOTM deluxe Bee than his own.

It's funny you mention the 07 mold. I still like that mold for the most part (though I take issue with them pawning it off currently as a Walmart exclusive) and I own two that I still have out. But I always felt the downfall was the head mold for him. So while I was playing head doctor earlier, I snapped off the crappy head from the 07 and stuck nitro with it and put the dotm deluxe's original head back on one of my 07 Concept molds. Poor nitro got even uglier..



But the dotm head finally spruces up the 07 mold nicely.

Everyone should buy nitro just to start swapping all these heads around.

YES. I love that mold. Articulated wrists and no emphasis on monkey arms. A great transformation and an awesome, awesome, AWESOME weapon that strikes me as a (superior) precursor to Mechtech.

Nitro looks ugly in robot mode, but nice in vehicle mode.

By the way, did I mention how AWESOME '07 Concept Bee's weapon is?

EDIT: Just had to tell everyone that the weapon is so very awesome.

I still kinda like the 07 mold myself, but with BB Bee he's kinda redundant, so he's joined the pile of figures to 'get rid of'. I don't really like having multiple versions of the same character on the shelf, unless there's a good reason.
