Will Thermal Remediation damage my Transformers figures?

Next week my apartment will be treated for bed bugs via Thermal Remediation, which uses intense heat between 120-135°F to kills the bugs in one treatment.

Because I have most of my Transformers action figure collection stored in 2 large cardboard boxes in one of my closets, I worry that the heat from the treatment will damage/melt them! :-s

Will the heat damage/melt them? :???:

Should I remove them all from my apartment or leave them stored where they are? :???:

Remove. I've heard of a blow dryer melting paint off of Transformers. Don't risk it.

Oh, you should absolutely remove them. Even if you could get out of it unscathed, it's not worth the risk.

Wow, this makes me curious about taking a transformer I don't much care for to work and trying our heat gun on it. Hmm, I had already promised my 10 year old nephew we'd try my blow torch out one too. Maybe this is a better experiment.

That's the exact example I was referring to. =P

This gives me an idea about when Scourge put the matrix inside of him and he got all bubbly and warped looking. He got "the touch" so to speak. lol.

Maybe if you had a beater Scourge laying around and put some paint on him and heated it up to a blister point without burning the paint you could get the effect from the cartoon.

Just an idea..... :-?

Maybe you could buy a Legends/Legion Class and stick it in a toaster oven to find out. =/

Only if you plan on never using that toaster oven again. Plastic fumes are toxic.

Also, I love the Y U NO Guy sayings in your sig.

this is a bit tricky for one the heat is designed to kill them wherever they hide and secondly they may hide in your transformers. i suggest you contact the company doing the work and see if they have any way/suggestions for cleaning the figures prior to removing them. id hate for them to clean up the place to only have those pests come back by hitchiking a ride on your figures.

good luck :D

That's my thoughts. The TF could very easily be a hiding place for the bed bugs.

You'll want to remove them, but you can't just bring them back in. The will have to be sterilized.
