Ok everyone, I know we all want to see a DOTM leader class Shockwave so lets do something about it. I have personally emailed Hasbro telling them how many transformer discussion boards bring up this topic and how much everyone wants to see a leader class Shockwave.
Lets all pull together in an effort to make this happen. I ask all of you to do as I have done and send an email to Hasbro about making a leader class Shockwave. Maybe if they get enough emails about it they will do it. It never hurts to try right? So who is with me?

Waste of time. They're not going to make a decision about manufacturing a $44 toy based on a few fan email or an online petition.

We have tried in the past with other figures, but to no avail.
Also take into consideration this: it takes more than a year to properly design and produce a toy. Should Hasbro decide making on a Leader Class Shockwave, the DotM line will be over before it's released.
*EDIT* Also, need I remind you we represent only a small fraction of Hasbro's consumers: a generous estimate is 10%. Hasbro doesn't know us, remember us from our childhoods (they won't go "hey, you were that kid who bought Wheelie, thanks a bunch!"). In short, they don't owe us anything.

Sounds good to me- when I found out they were just making a Voyager Shockwave I was really disappointed. It's worked before why not now? Shockwave is a fan-favorite and featured in the movie. He even seems to have more screen-time/development than Brawl from the first one, who ended up getting a Leader Class. If not now maybe in a sequel line but I think it could happen eventually.

Web petitions and e-mail campaigns tend not to work because it's more often than not a simple 30 second or so thing you can toss off.
However, paper petitions and mail-in letter(can be typed, but more effective when hand written) campaigns tend to actually grab the attentions of companies because it shows you actually took the time to do it. Ironic that the very things made to make things easier and faster make it harder to get noticed.

I'd rather petition them for a classics/universe/generations shockwave.

How can we be only ten percent of Hasbro customers, when some of you have hundreds or even a thousand transformers, some of which are Master Pieces that either cost or are worth hundreds$? If they did do a leader class shockwave, it would be good for them to make the drill and make it huge, while keeping a Voyager size shockwave with slight design differences.

I don't want Leader Shockwave. I want a Leader Megatron to go up against Ultimate OP and RotF OP.

That would be great, if they'd give us BUSTER OP, but I heard that was an Asia only, offering.

Those hundreds and even thousands have been years of work in progress. And kids will ask for anything Transformers, not just the figures. We collectors tend to be a bit more picky in that aspect.
And a better estimate would be slightly below 7%, but when you put the products sold against who has bought them, it would be roughly 10%, given we do buy more figures than the average kid.

Honestly, I don't think Shockwave deserves a Leader Class, based on his scant appearance in the movie. He was in there to please fans and be a distraction from the fact that Sentinel was the main bad guy.

Wow. I didn't realize that. I've seen some astonishing collections here and on another site. Some guys have an entire "man room" dedicated to the Transformers. I am SOOO far behind all of you....
If they don't do a Leader Class shockwave with the robot drill, maybe I'll just have to get the Voyager Class shockwave and fabricate the drill "somehow"...

I would guess that the collectors on this board are responsible for less than 1% of Hasbro's TF sales.

That blows my mind considering the number and quality of collections I see here. I just don't see how the odd kid who has one of this and one of that, most of which will break them, can be a larger percentage of the customer base. Granted, between my oldest son, my mum, and myself, we're responsible for my 12 year old's 25 figure collection, but that can't be the norm for kid collectors, can it? But then, many of the highly collectible figures aren't actually made by Hasbro. Hasbro doesn't make any of the Masterpiece versions.

Because there are more children in the world than us collector's. Christmas, birthday, and etc, they will be buying toys up, with no regard if they are good figures are not.
Why spend money on making a new Leader class mold when they can spend less resources on repainting Leader Bumblebee, calling him 'Night Ops', and sell to the masses. Why spend money on a Leader Shockwave, when less effort can be made into repainting the Voyager class mold, putting a 'Desert Attack' label on him, and selling that for more profit. Money matters, and when it comes down to it, they're going to make money off the everyday kid who has a birthday, or has an allowance, than some dedicated collector, who has to manage his funds and buy figures that 'suit' his collection.
Because in all honesty, people who collect 'everything' that is released is maybe 15-20% of the Transformers 'veteran' collecting populace. There are alot of people who are long term members of this site, who have a surprisingly low amount of figures.

This.
Not only are we on average more picky, but there's fewer of us than there are of kids. Heck, by the numbers, in the late 90's, there were apparently fewer toy collectors(of any variety) than there were people in the world with inverted nipples(thank you Toyfair for that tidbit that has stuck with me for who knows how many years).
Even if that number grew significantly, we're still outnumbered and out purchased by kids and their parents.

Then let's get the kiddies to create the petition for a Leader Class Shockwave. Since they are the primary target market, would Hasbro listen to them?

If we were to ask for any figure to made by Hasbro, LC Shockwave would be a waste of a wish.
The likelyhood of having a figure is probably going to be 33%. ROTF had 4 Leader Class molds, and why stop there, with DOTM already having 3. It's either going to be Megatron, Shockwave or another Optimus Prime.

Too bad most kids are too stupid to even know what a petition is.

Guess I won't have to worry about the kiddies buying up lots of MP Optimus or City Commander then. Heh. They can have the Hasbro bits all they want. LOL!!!

We'll just pull up in white vans in front of schools, day cares, skate parks, candy stores and such, walking up to kids and asking them if they like toys and....

My lil pony
Playdough
Board games
littlest pet shop to name a few.
I'd love to see one along w/ leader megs.....but only time will tell I'd say
