So...I'm sort of trying to sell myself on the Human Alliance Basics, but I'm hemming and hawing because I already have a ton of other stuff I want to get at SDCC this year...BUT I'm a sucker for a good toy. :-p

So I think I'm gonna pick one up and see how I like 'em? My question is...which do I pick up? And why?

In full disclosure I'm leaning towards Tailpipe, but I could be convinced otherwise.

I would get Whirl. I dig his super mega gun mode.

I was very hyped for Tailpipe, and he is good, no doubt, but the Targetmaster guy is a bit poor, and his head is a bit funky. I'd go with Sandstorm, or his upcoming repaint. Even without the human interaction or multiple modes gimmicks, he's a solid vehicle mode and a great robot, the other stuff is just tons and tons of tasty tasty icing on the decadent chocolate cake, the likes of which is seen only in Marks & Spencers adverts.

Sandstorm, hands down.

Sandstorm = best robot and vehicle mode, medium quality "weapon" mode

Whirl = decent robot and vehicle mode, best "weapon" mode

Tailpipe is awesome as all get out, because he can hold other HA basics thanks to his Pinpointer design. His own weapon mode is a little meh.

I also recommend Icepick. He's a Decepticon HA figure, and he turns into a snowmobile or a Chainsaw.

I have wave 1-2 of the ha basics an i can say that sandstorm is good but not the best. Id go with backfire, icepick, thunderhead, or whirl. Imo they are the best and this is how id rank them.

1. Whirl
2. Thunderhead ( mech suit is awesome)
3. Backfire ( bfg is awesome)
4. Icepick ( lower on my list because to me he gives off o fembot vibe )

So id go with whirl because of the giant gatling gun that looks awesome on skyhammer.

I've seen no less than three different "mech suit / Powerloader" modes for Sandstorm, plus at least one each for Whirl, Thunderhead, and Backfire.

Backfire's robot mode, however, SUCKS. It's arms are HORRIBLE.

And I STILL say Sandstorm is the best.

They're all great, except for Thunderhead with his uninspired modes:
1) two-legged robot
2) four-legged robot with human pilot
3) two-legged robot with a human in its crotch

Sandstorm is probably my favorite, even though his weapon mode is the worst.

Definitely Whirl. Backstop makes an awesome Bazooka for other figures.

I got Tailpipe the other day. He's a pretty awesome looking figure and I love the way Pinpointer looks as well. So far, he's the only HA that I've just had to get.

For me I think whirl is the best
