The former is no longer avaibable here (Brazil) but we have tons of the DOTM Prime...

Battle Blades looks really cool. I don't own it, but it looks awesome. If you can afford it, get it. If you don't need something spectacular, DOTM Optimus is great, too. His transformation is quite simple, which gives him a ton play value. After all, long, difficult transformations can discourage a person from transforming their toys while playing. However, DOTM Optimus, does have a substantial amount of kibble and a gun that is a pain in the butt (I'm constantly getting all the moving parts out of place).
So basically you can go for complex movie accuracy or simple, somewhat kibbly fun.
Or the '07 mold, but who the hell wants to play with an outdated mold?

Battle Blades Prime is amazing figure.
It's a very good voyager figure worth getting. I'm currently saving up money for one myself.

You can't beat Battle Blades Prime for screen accuracy and poseability. The DotM version is just rubbish. I'm sure you wouldn't regret chasing down a BBOP.

I do...
I actually like the '07 mold. Not screen accurate by any means, but he's a great size and the vehicle mode looks fantastic. Yeah, he's a bit kibbly with that backpack in robot mode, but he kinda reminds me of a Warhammer 40k Space Marine - armoured as all heck. I like to think of him as "power armour Prime".
But yeah... Battle Blades prime is awesome. Very screen accurate, but I'm not a fan of his guns. He also is no doubt very complex to transform. I think that the DOTM Voyager toy also has merit... it's only those oversized fuel tanks that bother me.

Battle Blades is the best, but if you get a DOTM OP, get the Fireburst repaint.

Can't really comment on Battle Blades Optimus Prime as I decided to miss out on him favor of the Japanese edition with the hooks, but the '07 Voyager isn't as bad as some people say. For me, it has the most pleasing, albeit not accurate, proportions, and the transformation is easy enough, and it hardly has any risk of actually breaking anything. The DotM is decent, but he sacrifices some posability for accuracy. He is insanely detailed though, but the solar panels and booster fuel tanks may put you off.

I own both the voyager Prime from 07 and the RotF leader Prime. One gets bashed all the time, the other praised. I would totally reverse that criticism. 07 Prime is sturdy, posable and fun. Very good figure.

While I like 07 Voyager Prime, I think Battle blades is far superior. Besides the prolific use of the 07 voyager seems to have caused some issues with the knee pegs. The 2009 repaint I have can barely keep the knees connected to the legs. They just keep falling out.
While my First Strike version pegs tightly on one side, but not the other. Robo Vision pegs tightly on both.

Battle Blades, Hands Down. Great Detail, Awesome Matrix of leadership, and I like a complex transformation, doesn't take away from the play value at all in my opinion. I dont so much care for the 07' voyager, and I'm waiting for DOTM Fireburst Prime for customization into another character entirely, If any customiser is interested, PM me, seriously, I gots a good Idea, but none the tools to pull it off...

The thing that puf me off a little from DOTM prime is not only the Booster Tanks, but the Fake windows on his chest.

Definitely get Battle Blades Prime. As far as I know, it's still available on HTS for $9.99. If it's not, you could get the Wal-Mart exclusive one, as long as you like (or at least don't mind) the deco. You'd be getting a better deal that way, since you'd be getting the Landmine repaint.

Hasbro Toy Store. Not the most reliable when it comes to stocking though.

I own about all of the movie Primes. As a voyager, Battle Blades Prime is the best of the lot. Very movie accurate both in robot and truck mode. He is complex but fun to transform. And he pose like a charm.
DOTM Voyager Prime have a mechtech weapon, but that's it. In truck mode, he got a nasty hollow on the back. In robot mode, he got fake wheels on his thighs, which is ridiculous. And he's smaller. By itself,DOTM voyager Prime is not a bad figure. But Battle Blade Prime blow it out of the water.
On a side note, try to get Movie 2007 Leader Prime as well. This guy is not screen accurate at all, but man, he's so fun!
