Indeed. Beast Era Unicron did look very interesting. He was also a New and different design, which when executed properly, is always preferable. It is a shame we never even got to see the colour scheme stage.



Plus he was an actual sphere. Something even UT couldn't manage a couple years later.

They do look pretty similar.
I bet this Unicron is Cybertron's Primus dad.

I wonder if the reason they never went beyond two Planet Bots was because of how long they held back making a Unicron release?







I mean The Movie itself teased three new Metal Planets (a kind appraisal in the Planet of Junk's case)



Then the Marvel comics gave us the Warworld.

It seems like this was an avenue they looked to explore then promptly abandoned.

Does anyone think that the new Battlemaster Pteraxadon should get red and yellow repaints as Laserbeak and Buzzsaw respectively?

It'd be a cool update, even in tansformers a pterodactyl isn't that far off from a vulture/condor birds

Laserbeak already has a Siege figure. If they do a red Pteraxadon, I'd prefer a Terrorsaur homage.

Didn't know Laserbeak had one, But still Pteraxadon and his back look a look a lot like the engines on 1984 laserbeaks weapons. Terrorsaur i wouldn't mind but Buzzsaw sold as a affordable Battlemaster axe instead of being bundled with a expensive big figure.

Both the MPM and SS versions of VW Bumblebee have the car door kibble of his Camaro version(s) even though they fold up on his back in the film. I'd like a good, movie-accurate VW Bee, but I somehow doubt they'll be going back to fix that any time soon.

This is due to the messy production of the Bumblebee Movie, where even the design got changed late in production and at some point they ditched Movie Bee's Prowl-esque 'wings' to give him a more G1-styled look.

Yeah, there probably won't be an official correction to that goof... not from the official channels, at least... you know, officially...

I was actually aware of how/why it happened. Doesn't mean I can't prefer it the other way.

I'm starting to think we're never going to see another sixchanger, or at least not one which isn't immediately labelled 'Sixshot' regardless of the set of altmodes, then repainted into Quickswitch because hey, it's a cheap way to keep up the name trademarks.

I'd really like to see some different characters with a boatload of altmodes. Whether that means members of the Six Clan, or a special sub-term/sub-line, or whatever.

There was RID Dragon Megatron way back then. A modern update to that character could be a great start. It should also be a leader class to make sure he have enough "meat" on his bones to pull off his (12) modes.

Only the original 6 really, as those are the ones with dedicated parts:

- Snout for the Bat
- Rolling wheels for the Formula
- Landing gear for the Jet
- Sliding bar for the Hand
- Heads and arms for the Dragon

The wings, beast feet and tail piece are multi-mode, and really show that in the Saurer, Cruiser, Elephant and "Pteranodon" modes, which are achieved with merely clever rearrangement of his limbs and other pieces.

That's what I love with 6 changers. You can always pull off at least one or two extra modes with a little creativity.

I have G1 Quickswitch and I made a dino mode and another version of the spaceship. So for me G1 Quickswitch is a "octochanger".

What will HasTak never make? Easy. Generations Trainbots, an Ultra Bee with Grimlock as the torso, and a box set with Star Saber, Deathsaurus, Liokaiser, Hauler and the Omnibots. And a proper Prime Airachnid.
