I'm 100% on board with this.
I do love our current "mini masterpieces" lines, but I miss the classic Generations line.

I don't see how these two things are incompatible. The excellent engineering and articulation of the current Generations lines an easily be translated to new designs. The only way it wouldn't is if those transformations got all weird and asymmetrical.

Obviously, I was not talking about the engineering. I was talking about "Geewun or bust". Sooner or later, the "Geewun" lines will run out of toys to remaster. Then maybe, Transformers will be allowed to think outside the box once again.

I mean we've already seen it between Siege and Earthrise: the only 'remake' that's truly different are the Seekers, whose alt mode is completely different, going from the oddball Tetrajet to the classic F15(?). The Datsun, Optimus and Megatron are barely different beyond their vehicle modes being tweaked to be even less 'Cybertronian'. In the Datsun case its egregious because, Cybertronian tampo aside, they were already very much a futuristic or retro-futuristic car.

Still count as G1 design, and a bit forgivable because they are part of the same trilogy. Like combiner limbs for the Combiner Wars trilogy. They are mold mates. So for the next and final chapter of the current trilogy, there will be more. But if the trend continue, the next trilogy will have new molds and all 3 chapters will share molds and frames. But WHAT this next trilogy will be?

I guess G1 again, but it would be awesome if it would be the JAPANESE G1. Meaning Masterforce and Victory. This, I'm genuinely looking forward to. Then, after a trilogy of G1 trilogies, Transformers could go in some wild direction.

TFs that would be cool but unfortunately have about as much chance as being made as Phreaker does:
The Decepticon mooks from the ROTF video game. Well, we got the Long Haul palette swap ones in the form of Payload, but the game-exclusive designs like the Combaticon Warrior...

Honestly, I am so ready for deluxe class updates of the G2 Cyberjets. They have so much repaint potential, official and otherwise, from just a few molds. Whether that will happen when we can just get the more popular (and cost-effective, I suppose) G1 seekers over and over is anyone's guess though :-P

HFTD Terradive was one damn awesome mold. But for a more "geewun" look, I would love some. Especially at deluxe smallish size to match their original toys.

Just tuck the shoulder in between the chest and the back and he's fine. Also, flatten the feet properly. I find that solves the things everybody moaned to no end about regarding him.

I don't want a Generations update (well, I'd by a deco homage to swell my ranks, but..), because it would undoubtedly either be undersize (and dumbed down or phoned in), or a lazy headswap redeco. Or if it avoided those things, it would be missing the signature arm cannon.

...Can you tell I don't trust HasTak very much with Unicron Trilogy updates? The only one that was particularly good was Universe Hot Shot, and even he was missing the signature axlezooka. And in fact, was missing a weapon of any sort on the Hasbro release.

The deluxe "Armada" Starscream was and still is really, really good. Scale be damned.

Licensing struggles with BMW aside, I really WANT this!
Remind me of those "cabin headed" Super Gobots. Hey. That's actually BUG BITE. Down to the same transformation! Only difference is that he's basically headless like the G1 Ironhide/Ratchet toy. I LOVE it!

I've actually had a similar thought, but it was a sideline at normal price points and it was called "Transformers: Beyond Imagination". It's a general catch-all line for things that wouldn't have a place in a normal line. Concept art and alternate versions are part of it, as are things like unproduced Transtech and Hero prototypes, but it'd be a place to put weird or obscure characters like Gilthor, or even characters who don't technically exist like this guy:

Here's one: An MP Grimlock with a cheetah-pattern redeco and a blue waist.

Because it would only be desirable to people who get the reference and think it's funny enough to be worth the cash.

I think the closest you'll ever get is if they do this:

Unless that's what you're talking about, but I don't think it is. (It could result in a blue waist if you meant the waist in dino mode, but that's definitely not a cheetah pattern.)

BAPE or some other smart-ass Japanese company could do it as an exclusive................... on MP-10.

Probably, although it wouldn't really work. The reference is only applicable to Grimlock. ...Or Skyfire.

Do you get what it is?

It's a reference to Hunter the Cheetah from Spyro 2. His voice actor (in the original PS1 version, not Reignited)? Was Gregg Berger.

Well, the connection between Grimlock and Skyfire is that they were both voiced by Gregg Berger, who apparently voiced some cheetah guy in the Spyro games. But if it's a voice actor joke, it could also apply to Long Haul or Outback.

Either way, how about you just say it instead of making us play guessing games?
