Sweet gallery, keep up the good work. :APPLAUSE: I'm starting to warm up to him, despite my repulsion of the forearms. At least they're covered by the gloves, so I may let it slide.

If I may put in a request: do you think we could get comparison shots of these:

- Ultimate Optimus Prime
- RotF Optimus Prime + Jetfire combo
- Jetwing Optimus Prime

...once all three galleries are done?

As a 32 year old collector, this is a total pass. RotF Prime or Buster Prime is all anyone needs as far as movie Primes. Hasbro should just put out Jetwing Prime in the states because you just can't improve on that mold. That said, 8 year olds will dig it, which is fine. These are just toys after all.

I'm on the fence leaning towards the 'Not Getting It' side.

Do not like the forearm look, but I may get it for the alt mode. Right now I'm really trying to decide between it and the Chronicles version....

What you said is definitely what I'm thinking of when I see this dude. I coulda said "THIS" but I am not a 32 year old collector xD.

The pictures of this guy are really nice Ryan :D. Kudos. I especially love the pictures where you put the huge mechtech gun on the normal Optimus. That just looks frickin badass ! It looks like Optimus just stole Megatron's fusion cannon lol xD.But this guy are a total pass based on quite alot of cons :-

1)Huge forearms.
2)Slim legs
3)Small feet/naked feet cause he doesnt have a wheel on each of the leg
4)The golden toes
5)The trailer suppose to be closer
6)The head in the combined mode is way too small
7)The wings is a real bother.I dont care if it flaps down become like some sort of a cape. It's still a bother.
8.WAYYYY too expensive.
9)Hated the trailer cause all it does is becoming an armour. From that price point you expect it to open up and store 2-3 deluxes at least.
10)Lastly...I hate how the trailer just becomes the wing instead of the armor. This is why I like the CV trailer more. Atleast you can see features of the trailer on the exosuit mode.

So...Yeah total pass. I think I would buy the entire DOTM line(Mechtech and Cyberverse) before I consider buyin this ugly prime.

From now on he shall be call...

UGLIMUS PRIME !!!

This would be great at $49.99. Huh...They didn't even use the DOTM model of OP on the box

Does anyone know if the trailer fits on the Igear Faith Leader Prime? If so, I'll totally get one

I suppose this would be considered the "Leader Class" DOTM Prime, if we didn't know about the Jet Prime?

Nice gallery, thanks!

Ultimately, though it has served to galvanize what I've already been leaning towards, which is to skip this and spend the extra money for the sweet MOVIE ACCURATE Jetwing version. This Ultimate toy may be big, but large does not necessarily mean good, as evidenced by such greats as Supreme Cheetor and ROTF Devastator.

I don't get anything like that warm, fuzzy "oh, that's so clever" vibe I got from past offerings like Armada Prime. There is nothing innovative or just plain fun going on here; it's as if they rushed a design that forces the trailer to be part of the central figure, and as you can see, most of the trailer is sticking up in all directions from his back.

Why do we keep getting this treatment in the States while Japan gets to enjoy the best of all worlds?
Their plan makes perfect sense: a voyager Prime complete with trailer to satisfy that trailer urge, and a beautiful movie accurate retool of ROTF Prime for the Leader Class offering.

But no, instead, we get....this.

Ok, rant over.

I often wondered where they got the idea for this toy. I haven't seen it reflected in any of the concept art (like ROTF leader Megatron), nor was this close to anything in the movie (jetwing looks more movie accurate). What would have been badass is if the trailer transformed into an armory like in it's debut scene. Complete with handheld sword, shield, and mechtech gun.

That is what I was thinking. That would be an "Ultimate Optimus Prime". Not this Ultimate trying it's best to be a Jetwing Prime. That's the feel I get. This is trying to be Jetwing. Then you see Jetwing and it's really no contest between the two. Jetwing wins. I guess this is the prevailing opinion of most when comparing the two. Takara laid the smack down on Hasbro here. :BOT:

Yeah, I think this made up my mind. Not getting it, even if it goes on clearance. It's just not cool enough to be in my collection. Too bad I can't afford Jetwing Prime.

It seems pretty unanimous among most of us. Pass on Ultra. Seems to me once you add the trailer parts and all to Ultra, his head looks REALLY small.

What's the lowest price any of you have seen Jetwing Pre-order for?

This toy is extremely poorly made. Its large alright, but cannot do anything but stand pretty much in 1 place. The arms cannot hardly move without the inner arms coming undone and the legs only move out to the side when in combined mode. Its kinda like ArmadA Prime but worse. And this coming from a 39 yr old collector, lol. That has EVERY U.S Transformer to date and most Jap. and Euro's. For $80+ its not even good for kids.

here is a good review link of it

Oh and I have seen JW Optimus sell for $175, but BBTS now jacked it up to $199 I think.

The video shows that Ultimate Prime is noticeably larger than Leader Sentinel Prime, but the limited range of motion with all of the armor and trailer parts attached make me very happy that I got the Classics Henkei Prime and D.I.A. Commander Trailer/Armor instead of Ultmate Prime, even though it costs less than just the D.I.A Commander trailer alone. Definite pass after seeing this video. Sorry Hasbro. Takara wins the comparison hands down and even at the jacked up price being charged for JW Prime, it's a better quality figure. May not be as big, but size doesn't matter if the quality of the figure is lower than the Japanese figures.

Thanks for the shots of the trailer with ROTF Prime! Does it work well with him? And does it look good with him? It's kind of hard to tell from those angles.
