Hey, i am just wondering what i should do. I want the rotf mold of optimus prime, i have the '07 movie mold, but this one is way more movie accurate. but- the only one available to buy is the battle hooks optimus prime, with the ugly battle damage on his face. i do not want to spend eighty bucks for the original rotf mold. should i just wait and see if they will release a dotm mold? do you think hasbro will? there are also other dotm figures i want to buy, should i just buy those instead? if you own the hftd leader prime, would you please tell whether it is easy to remove the battle damage on his head w/ out taking off the silver paint.

i would say no, and even if you can, the black paint covers an area that whould be silver so repainting would be required anyway. better to pick up some silver paint and redo the whole head

I think you already know this, but technically, there are already two DOTM leader class OP's either confirmed for release or already being sold--Jetwings OP and the so-called DA-28 Redecoration "Striker" OP. Thing is, these are both Takara Japan-only figs, and they're rather pricey despite being non-high end figs.

I'm can't confirm this, but I remember hearing that Hasbro has plans to release the DA-28 Striker OP. Nobody knows if it's a repaint or a new mold, only that it [the Takara version, at least] will come with the BFG as seen in the movie and a shield.

Personally, I suggest you at least wait for Takara to release the "Striker" OP, and buy that one if Hasbro decides not to release it.

You should set up a saved search on eBay and be patient. I'm sure you can get one for quite a bit less than $80. I bet you could snag him for closer to $50.

DOTM figure prices will be stable for some months yet. But you're the only one who can answer this question.

I don't own it and I can't answer this question. But you might want to know that the head sculpt is different, as well: HFTD Leader Prime's head doesn't have his face shield.

yeah, i noticed that he doesn't have his mask. im just worried that hasbro will end up not releasing the striker optimus prime, and by the time i find that out, they will have also stopped selling the hftd one. i could buy a rotf leader prime on ebay, but i would much prefer spending less money, the hftd is only $30, so, i dont know what im going to do.

I'm surprised ROTF Prime has become so expensive. A while ago there was a pile of those things for 50% off.

Probably because the Hasbro DOTM line doesn't have any better or equally good Primes to offer...
