Am I wrong for liking the new Rescue Robot Transformers?

Yesterday, I stopped at TRU to look for MP Rodimus and I didn't find him. While I was there, I decided to look for the Rescue Robots to get my 2 year old Nephew his first Transformer that he could actually handle (Got him Animated Grimlock when he was 1 years old and that didn't end well for poor Grimmy...). Anyways, I find Prime and the firetruck guy. I decide to get them and bring them to my nephew. He has a blast with the figures and I end up playing with them as well. I found their transformations so simplistic yet effective that I decide to get a Prime for myself (basically to go along with my Optimus Prime collection).
Today I stop back at TRU and pick up Prime and on a whim, get Bumblebee as well. Let me tell you that these figures are pretty awesome. I find myself keeping them on my desk and just transforming them over and over. Prime is just all around awesome with a great vehicle and bot mode. He's not very posable, but he looks good none the less. Bumblebee's car mode is pure win. His bot mode also isn't as bad as the pics make it seem. These two little guys have really grown on me, and I'm considering picking up some of the later figures (namely the helicopter and police car).
So yea, anyone else like these little guys? I normally don't feel weird about picking up TF's at the store, but scouring the Playskool section at my local TRU felt kind of odd. Still, I'd do it again to find a few more of these guys.

No more than anyone is for liking the Playskool Gobots, or the Gravity bots, or anything along those lines.

There's nothing wrong with liking them.

Uh, yes. You are wrong for liking them. You are also wrong for getting a one year old baby a voyager class transformer.
I believe Lex Luthor covers it all pretty well here:

They look a bit cutesy for me, but Prime and the Firetruck both look pretty neat. I think the Police car looks like a hunchback (or would that be hatchback?) in robot mode though...
I wouldn't judge you for collecting them. Who cares as long as you enjoy them?

Just imagine being critized for liking Transformers on this forum. Wouldn't that be bizarre?
*Looks at movie forum*
Dammit.

As someone whose Xenomorph Queen stands proudly with Fisher-Price aliens...
All Transformers are kids toys, no denying that. "6-12" isn't any more adult than "1-3."
Personally I find them too "cute" for my (admittedly strange) tastes, though at the same time I love the designs. In particular, the construction vehicle nut in me is making it hard to not want Boulder.

If I run accross it, I'll defenitely get a Rescue Prime. That's the cutest G1 hommage I've ever seen. And I must have him for my Optimus Prime collection.
Now, I wish for a Starscream.

no way man. what ever floats your boat. every collector has their standards. some collect robot heros, some collect nothing but legends class. some are mixed. or completely different. you are not wrong for liking them. but you are wrong for giving a 1 year old a voyager class >.< i would not even give him a legends class.

As many have said, yes, I kind of jumped the gun on giving my nephew that Animated Grimlock. I was just stoked that he was finally walking and saying people's names. I just figured he was mature enough to know how to at least play with him in dino mode. Obviously, I don't have kids, lol.
As for the Rescue Bots, I'm definitely going to pick up a few more of the Autobots. I'm just hoping we get some Cons to go along with them...namely Megatron and Starscream.

Yeah, I finally saw them today and they are quite tempting TBH. I won't buy them for my self but will definitely buy for younger kids. My son played with them in the store (well, really not much to "play" actually but just touch here, touch there) but didn't see him too interest. He prefers those Imaginext dragon stuff. Oh, he is 4.

I'm going to snag these - I have a 5 yr old and 3 yr old - i'm just worried what they'll make of them after playing with their animated collection i've indulged in. I can here my 5 yr old saying - "he looks like he's for babies!" - but hey, *this one* you can transform!

I picked up the Optimus last week and I have to say, I like it, it's nothing special, but I like it.

This.
I say: Screw it, it's a Transformer. You're not prevented from liking it. I saw Optimus Prime for the first time today and I thought he was intriguing. They're kind of unique, actually.

I saw the review of the Optimus prime. This is literally a cartoony hommage to the original G1 Prime! It's so awesome I wanted it.
Unfortunately, being In Québec mean I'll never know when the thing will come over here, or if it will come at all.
So, I went the sure way and bought it off ebay. At 18.99$+11.66$ I may have paid double the price he's going for. But I don't give a ****. I WILL own that Prime!

I bought a bunch of transformers classics graded as beginner that got mixed results with my 4 year old last Christmas. Now that he is approaching his 5th Christmas the only problem I have with Robot Rescue is that they didn't come out last year. They look perfect for preschool kids and have playsets compatable with superhero toys from both the Hasbro Marvel heroes and Star Wars Adventure lines. Imaginext is also in the same scale for those sort of figures. It is really nice to see everyone playing nice for a change. I'm very happy to buy these for my son with the ulterior motive that I get to play with them as well.
Looks like there are six Robot Rescue transformers total shown on Hasbro site. So far I have only seen Prime, Bummblebee and the Firebot (forgot his name on Target shelves. There is a playset as well but I would skip it. Just a big chunk of plastic with some moving parts.

I can't justify buying them for myself just to display, but I think I'm going to buy a set of them for my brother's new baby boy. He's only 1, but I'll save them until he's old enough. Or maybe save them in hopes I have a son of my own someday!
Is everyone aware that the little vehicles that come with human figures transform into weapons that can be held by the "Deluxe" transforming figures?

Probably not gonna happen. There are no "bad guys" in this line. They are RESCUE BOTS. Cops, firefighters, and other types of rescue vehicles and personnel.

I was originally gonna pass on the line but then I wanted to be a little rebellious against my sister-in-law who has more than once vocalized her wishes for her daughter to be a girly girl. And because mummy is a Disney nut, she has made her 23 month one too... I don't have issues with Disney, but it gets to a point where it's just way too much and, hey, my niece likes playing with my Ultimate Bumblebee xD So thus came the rebellious idea.
I bought Optimus for her because, while she likes my Bee, I thought Bee would be too much for her at 2. At least OP's head is out to play with and there aren't as many small places for little finger to get stuck in.
Her b-day isn't until next month so Optimus has been sitting in my room. After a week of staring at him I decided I really liked the figure and bought one for myself. haha. My niece will still have access to it though. I'm half afraid my sister-in-law will throw the gift out (because she's like that -__- ) so I have a spare / one for my collection now. Hopefully OP won't go way of the dumpster D; He is a truck after all and kids like things with wheels xP

If they weren't so expensive, you could get her the Disney Label Transformers! Your sis-in-law wouldn't even notice they're transformers until it's too late!
