2011....The Year Of DOTM, The Only Year? Looks Like.

According to the Hasbro TFCon panel, DOTM is scheduled to run through 2011...only.
Prime will start in December (hence, the First Edition packaging for the Prime figures.), and Prime will be released in full force in March 2012.

DOTM is scheduled to be produced until the end of the year, final shipments of produced product will ship until March, and that's it. It's over.

So, those rumored Leader Class figures? You can pretty much kiss 'em goodbye.
Dino? No comment from them.

Nothing on Human Alliance Top Spin either.

On the plus side, Q/Que/Wheeljack has been moved up to wave 5, not 6.

So...what do you guys think?

Doesn't mean much. I can see Dino, Leader Megs, and Leader Shockwave being released under a banner similar to Reveal the Shield or something like that. Leader Starscream was released under the Hunt for the Decepeticon banner as was Voyager Seaspray. As for Human Alliance Topspin, though, maybe Hasbro just hasn't released details on his release.

Like the movie itself, the DotM line ends far too abruptly.

I wouldn't mind seeing it take a secondary spot, but flat out stopping that soon is a shame. So many characters we haven't gotten yet, no to mention non-movie Movie guys tend to be amazing too.
durr hurr we already had 5 years of this stuff

I would surely love for there to be a spinoff line. I'm just not getting my hopes up. The reason I say that is, this line has been drastically different from the last two.

Especially ROTF.

ROTF became N.E.S.T., but was still ROTF. Bludgeon came out just before the new year. (I bought him on NYE, to be exact.) Then came HFTD. Then RTS.

We're being told that DOTM is going straight to the end of the year, and it's not morphing into something else like ROTF did.

I can't remember what the time frame was for All Spark Power in the first movie's toyline, but I think it worked out the same way as N.E.S.T. if I'm not mistaken.

So, hearing nothing about the line beyond 2011 makes me think this is it. That what you see is what you get and tough luck on the rest.

On top of this info, I found it incredibly odd that the waves were being pushed through so fast. I mean, on May 16th, all of wave 1 was out, and bits and pieces of wave 2. Then once wave 2 was out and about, we started getting heaps of wave 3. Now, we're seeing wave 4 Deluxe sightings of Cyberfire Bumblebee and Rescue Ratchet (or whatever he's called), and now both Wheeljack and Soundwave's Deluxes have been pushed up from 6 to 5.

I wondered why they were shoving this line through so fast, now it all makes sense. But that whole thing about DOTM having more Leaders seems to either be a miscommunication in the company, or a flat out lie.

Unless they're planning to give us a ginormous onslaught at Christmas time. Most of the bigger items (Ark, Ultimate Optimus, etc) aren't on the current store reset list, and looks like they may not be on the next either. If we do get everything they promised, I have a feeling we'll be slammed at Christmas.

I surely hope there's a spin off line, but with Prime becoming their main focus (not complaining, btw), I doubt there will be.

I do think we might actually be seeing the end of the movieverse. Period.

Well I wouldn't mind the movie-verse coming to an end, but it's just ridiculous to think that a character like Dino won't be getting a figure. I might be able to buy DOTM Leader Shockwave being misinformation, but I don't see how Hasbro would pass up the chance for a leader version of Megatron. As for two lines running at the same time, it's happened before. Power Core Combiners, HFTD, and Animated (or was it RTS) ran at the same time. I don't see how the TFP toys will be the ONLY line available in stores. Rescue Bots doesn't count either. I'm pretty sure TFP and another subline that is loosely tied to the movie-verse (like HFTD) will be available at the same time. That subline will then phase out and give way to the new Generations figures.

Seriously, how could Hasbro NOT give us at least Dino. That makes zero sense.

I am fine with ending the movie line at the end of the year(and there are still 5 more months till that). I'm not so sure it's gonna play out that way. I think they will have toys way beyond the DVD sales.
I am really bored with the movie stuff. I like the movies, but it's the same characters time and again with minor differences. They seem to think nothing will sell if they don't saturate the waves with the likes of BB.

I had pretty much guessed this already. the sheer fact we've had almost the same exact DOTM toys on shelves from may 16,2011 thru july 30,2011 was a major hint. other hints were entertainment earth listed wave 4 DOTM voyager in november with no new molds & just repaints.

hopefully the quick end of Dotm means more new mold generations toys in bigger size levels. and more TF Prime toys in bigger size levels.

You're kidding me right? They're just going to cut it off right now? I'm not planning on buying anything from the Prime line, and as far as I know we're getting the last wave of Generations, so that's going to go too. I just don't see a huge jump in profits by axeing Dark of the Moon and Generations for Prime. I know we're getting deluxe Que and Soundwave, because I've already seen pictures of them, but Dino's another story. Nothing on him yet. I'd be pretty pissed if they just said "sorry guys, we're just going to give you these repaints and kill the series right now".

I kinda agree that it's a bad move on Hasbro's/takara's part to end the DOTM toy line so soon. because stores in america are over ordering DOTM because movie verse TF toys have a solid track record of selling out decently.

I'm also not A TF Prime toy fan. I don't think i'll get any deluxes. I might grab the black vechicon,a few voyagers like bulkhead,Skyquake & hopefully some leader sized molds.

I'm guessing generations is gonna have a big 2012 year. with new molds in all size levels from legends, basics, deluxes, voyagers. dare I dream of a few $27 usa ultra's & leader sized toys for generations.

Now that I think about it, regarding Dino, it wouldn't be the first time we were screwed out of a movie-verse main character. ROTF Elita 1 was originally supposed to be a new mold that contained instructions to a hyped up Motorcycle triplet combiner. Hasbro kept hyping it up and in the end, they just gave Chromia a half assed repaint, shrugged, and said "Lol, try to figure out how to combine them yourselves!".

Hell, I actually bought ROTF Arcee and ROTF Chromia in hopes that their piss poor bot modes were compromised because of a kick ass combined mode. Way to make me waste my money Hasbro. :BANG_HEAD:

So yea, upon further thinking, there's a strong chance we WON'T get a DOTM Dino. If we're lucky, we may just get a red repaint of ROTF Sideways that Hasbro will try to pass off as Dino.

That's not what you're guessing, that's what you want. Along with the rest of the board and yours truly, but not the kids. ;)

So the movie line will be cut short in favor of something, that we know now. The only logical answer would have to be Prime with Generations on the side. We still have *counts* 5 months until the end of the year, giving us ample room for one of two more waves depending on size class.

Here you go. http://www.oafe.net/yo/tfm2_elita.php

Pretty impressive, honestly. I mean, it's not going to win any awards, but it's reasonable.

If we did get the Leaders that were rumored (and I sincerely doubt we will, now. I think the source was full of crap.) it would be nice to use this as an excuse for Hasbro to give us Buster Prime.

The transforming fuel tank weapon could be listed under a Mechtech gimmick, they could cut the paint apps (Gee, Hasbro....do that? Naw...) and remold the abs to make him film accurate. It would sell. I would buy one. I already have the original ROTF Prime, but I'd let that replace mine in a heart beat.

Still, I ain't holdin' my breath, now.

I suspose if hasbro wants to do a different version of DOTM Megatron voyager sized megatron toy.

It would be kinda cool to get a DOTM Leader sized Megatron toy that looks a bit like the DOTM Cyberverse megatron toy. where the truck cab seperates from the trailer. then the trailer forms a back pack. I suspose since it's a leader sized toy. the trailer could break up to form feet & forearms, weapons & backpack with flip down shoulder canons.

I'm sorry, but that thing is hideous. No fan made motorcycle triplet gestalt mode will ever wash the horrible taste in my mouth that I get when I look at ROTF Chromia and Arcee sitting on my shelf.

There is no way they'd end the DOTM line after just seven months. It's got to turn into some other line in 2012, like HFTD. They've got to give us Mirage eventually. My guess is that they desperately want to have him as an official Ferrari, and they're having some trouble getting the licensing, but haven't given up yet, like they did with Sideways. Hopefully, we'll get a Leader Megatron as well. I also really want a weaponized Roadbuster. I know, there are fan-made modes out there, and they're okay, but they still don't look anything like the other two Wreckers. I hope they're still able to make other figures, too, like the other Dreads. There were also a few repaints I was wanting. It also just wouldn't make sense for them to end the Movie line, which has been a very profitable line for them.

I really hope the Movie line isn't done yet. I'm not ready to see it go. There's still so much I want from it.

On the plus side, this may mean more Classics/Generations figures, if we're lucky.

I would be really disapointed if we at least won't see a leader megs and shockwave, as well as an deluxe soundwave (if not even an voyager)
just seems rather harsh for me to cut the line so soon

This is just too hard to believe, especially for the amount of money Hasbro makes off the movies.

if they do focus on TF: Prime, at least they said Combiners and Dynobots are part of a long term plan for that franchise wich means new dynobot molds, maybe new grimlock more reminiscent to his G1 self and i am hopefull that maybe other autobots will be introduced such as Ultra magnus, prowl etc

As long as i get all the new moulds from this line i will be happyish? i have cut back on so much on this movie i would easly settle back into Completeing my Classics/2.0 and a very slim random bit of Prime untill Generations kicks off again.

As long as they send off the line with a knock-out punch: Leader Class Megatron, I'm content. Most of the DotM (and the previous 2) movie toys are crap anyway.

OH, COME ON!! We finally get a decent (and my opinion, awesome) movie Megatron, and they won't make a Leader Class for him? Can I call bullsh*t on this one?
