I recently acquired one (though I noticed in several ebay auctions that his face plate is chipped/damaged)and to the horror of my eyes, the paint simply chipped off his face plate.
Has this ever happened to your version?

Nope. But mainly because I can't seem to find a MIB Lightfoot.
I want one.

Yup, mine has chipped paint. His head springs up at an angle, and he smashes his own face in. I guess it's just one of those things... Not exactly a design flaw, it's only that his head, unless reigned in, can tilt forward and backwards by some degree. When I transform mine, I hold my finger over the head-hole, and let it come up gradually.
You could repaint it with, say, Tamiya. I find it works real well on Transformer faces. ^_^
