That Transformer you bought that actually made you ANGRY.

You are pretty exited to have received a Transformer you bought either in store or online. You unwraped it, you transform it... but man, WHAT THE HELL! Everything is hateful about the toy. The transformation is frustrating, some modes are ugly looking, the features were not as expected, there's some unforgivable flaws that just MAKE YOU HOWL WITH RAGE! :-x :BANG_HEAD:

What were these TF? SIMPLYT POSTING A TF YOU JUST HATE OR JUST A LITTLE DISAPOINTING WON'T CUT IT. Post and describe only the one that made you ANGRY. The ones you hated so much that you either threw them in disgust, returned them to the store, or hid in the back shelf.

Let it be a warning form those who may buy these horrors.

....

First one that come to mind is HftD Leader Optimus Prime. The figure in truck mode is nice looking, if it werent for the DAMN PANELS THAT REFUSED TO FIT TOGHETER! The transformation made me MAD. The damn blades keep getting in the way, and there always seem to be something wrong with him... And the robot mode is ugly.

Next is a repost for a previous thread. This one is the king of all:

I'm a big Starscream fan. ALL versions.

I was pretty exited when I finally received my DotM Target Exclusive Voyager Starscream. I knew it was a RotF repaint. I never had the Voyager of RotF. The Leader is a Masterpiece after all. But the DotM repaint seemed fine.

WHAT A PIECE OF ****! #-o

First, contrary to the youtube review, the cockpit and his eyes are made of PLAIN pastic. Not transparent. WTF?

Then, his elbows bend the wrong way.

But the worst offender: His hands are sticking out of his ass in jet mode! The manual clearly state that you can fold them inside, but for some retarded reason, that point of essensial engineering was omited.

This is the first time ever that a transformers actually made me angry.

Leader Ironhide actually made me pretty mad. He looks cool just standing there but that's about it. You can't move his head (without mods) and the panels on his arms that are supposed to hide his cannons keep popping open. They're very loose. Very frustrating. A few Beast Wars ticked me off back in the day (when I was a kid).

SWTF General Grievous (wheel bike). I am trying to recall what the exact problem was but it had to do something with getting the giant "wheel" parts to disconnect so it could be transformed and it wouldn't. Eventually I got it but I was so PO that it didnt really matter. I was a pretty big fan and had a lot of enthusiasm for the SWTF line but a lot of the ones I got were so loose that they couldn't stand or hold poses, so I had a lot of aggravation with them.

More of a WTF moment was with Energon Slugslinger and WFC Optimus Prime. I prefer to transform my figures without using the instruction manual and both of those figures had many WTF moments when I was trying to figure them out.

The ultimate anger-generator, back me up here guys, was TFTM Payload.

Head and shoulders fall off, bumper falls off, and there's a plunger longer than he is tall sticking out his back. WTF?!?!?

Definitely the worst figure design to date of any line. I may not LIKE the robot modes of, say, the motorcycle girls, but at least they are what they're supposed to be, and don't crumble into a pile of parts every time the bookcase is bumped.

But at least they don't fall apart at the slightest touch, or have a plunger sticking out their backs that made ANY kind of pose impossible except sitting down.

Universe Galvatron. I love the guy and was excited to find him. Then I opened the package. That toy is total crap. I can't believe they released it.

WFC Bumblebee! I thought he looked spectacular from the images i saw.

WHen i finally got him and started to transform him into car mode. None of his panels were fitting together properly and pieces were falling off all over the place. I kept trying to get everything tight but to no avail.

Bot mode just looks ridiculous in person, IMO, and the way his hands are at that angle permanently just drove me bonkers.

I got so mad at the QC of my particular figure and was so disappointed in the bot mode i actually flipped out and stomped the **** out of it into a million pieces and tossed it in the garbage.

I FRAKING HATE THAT FIGURE.

If a figure is pissing you off then you need to cool off.

I've only ever been disspointed with DOTM Skids. I've been happy with all the other figures I purchased though.

No reason to get pissed off over a frikkin piece of plastic. It never did anything to you.

As for being angry? Energon Slugslinger made me scream so loud my throat actually hurt. I chucked him like a baseball across the room. He hit my bed, bounced off and slammed into the floor, HARD.

I was never so pleased with myself. I really was. It was a sense of pride and accomplishment. After a cooldown period, I looked over the instructions carefully, and followed them step by step, came to realize he was much easier than my impatience allowed me to see.

Once I got it right a first time, it was breeze, the rest. Fail on me, on that one.

The Alternators Grimlock/Wheeljack mold. Those arms. Those irritating, we make you want to punch puppies, we laugh at you and point, badly designed arms. I nearly broke that Alternator....out of intent to shatter. I was so glad when he got transformed, boxed up and shipped off to someone else to enjoy. I think I danced a small jig when I realized he was gone. (No, not kidding.)

Most of these don't bother me like that anymore. Though, I do expect the day when one will come along and make me want to explode my face all over.

FansProject Warbot Defender came close. Those arms are atrocious, along with the extreme tolerances, but I did finally master them. Once mastered, I kinda had to give up being angry at it and them. That first time, however, you want to say horrible things, do horrible things, and set fire to your wallet because it allowed you to be stupid and buy the damn thing in the first place.

...then you get it, do it right, and find out "Crap, this is awesome. So glad I bought." and again, the fail is back on you.

Patience and perseverance win out in the end. None of us have the foresight to know this in the beginning, and that happens when we're excited. We're all prone to that.

I usually have a cool head about transforming, I've only gotten frustrated at RotF Leader Prime in the past. However, this past week, not 1 but 2 Transformers outright pissed me off.

First was Alternity Megatron. I was planning on selling him, as as he was in robot mode, I wanted to transform him into car mode and put him into the box. But fr some reason his arms just wouldn't go in place. And then when i got his arms in place, his hood popped up, his front slid back apart and his head popped back up. When I put the head down, the arms came back out. I went through this freaking charade for about 10 minutes, and I got worked up so much that instead of doing the cool thing and putting it down and walking away, I flung it across the room. The only thing that happened to it was its passenger side mirror broke off. So I am no longer selling it, unless someone wants it like that.

Second, which is the more heinous of the 2, is my MP-09 Rodimus Convoy. In anticipation of the TRU release's arrival, I took MP-09 off the shelf where it was sitting in vehicle mode. When I first got it, I didn't have any of the problems other posters mentioned. He transformed and fit together perfectly. He slid right into the slot of the trailer without problem. This time, after taking it out of the trailer, I tried transforming him to robot mode, and couldn't even finish it. (Did this without instructions.) Then I decided to just transform him back, using the instructions, and put him back on the shelf. Unlike the first time, this time it was a bitch to put it in car mode. Even harder to put it back into the trailer. Once again, I did the hot-headed thing and flung him across the bed. Yes, I flung my $175 MP-09. I finally got him in the slot and snapped the front back on, and I will never touch it again. I have my TRU version for the robot mode. First thing I did when I got here afterward was remove the tagline from my sig.

I think people need to chill. I look upon transformations as a challenge and marvel at the engineering when one of the has me stumped for a while. It's more frustrating when I've left a figure for long enough to forget how to do it but then I'm frustrated with myself.

If you can't transform it, it isn't the toy's fault. They're all perfectly transformable. Even MP Hot Rod, Megatron and Alternators Wheeljack! Those arms aren't badly designed, they're just tricky to transform without knocking off the doors.

This is a hard one! There are so many tfs from the last 2 years that I could never get to transform completely right because of panels and outright QC...

But I'll tell you that the two most aggravating so far for me were Sentinel Prime and WFC Bumblebee. Whoever designed those did it with intent to cause breakdowns. Anyone got some real instructions for LC Sentinel? I can't even tell what I'm looking at with hasbro's pathetic microscopic prints.

First thing, I just want to mention that the overall desing of the thing can be frustrating. Look at this video for a laugh:

Do you mean Dark of the Moon Leader Class Sentinel Prime? I find him very easy to transform and he's very fun too. However, I agree with you 100% that the manuals are often very hard to decipher... not mentioning some outright mistakes (I'm still glaring at you, Target Exclusive DotM Voyager Starscream with your broken promise of folding hands that are still not updated in the friggin manual.)

When anyone is stumped in a transformation, go see a review on Youtube. My favorite reviewer is Optiboptimus. He's not boring, he don't waste time with silliness, and his instructions are very clear.

Here's his review of DotM Leader Sentinel Prime:

The first day I got movie Barricade, It took me an hour to transform him.

That really pissed me off.

I considered returning him.

I figured him out a week later.

Mine is classics Tankor/Octane. I already knew he is a piece of crap but for some reason, I still wanted to hunt him down. After I got him even in cheap price, man, he is really a piece of crap. Not even bother to sell him but he is hiding in the crowd now.

Another one is Animated Samurai Prowl. He is totally fine but the armor piece is just way too heavy for his body to cope with. I've fixed his hip joints numerous times but still. Ended up selling him.

Well, I won't really use the term of "angry" but "frustrating" to the toys. Angry part will be used on the designers. ;)

Do KOs count? If so I bought a KO Darkwing and Dreadwind set that was below the quality of poor. I never bothered to take pics so I could post a warning to buy them (I didn't have a camera either) but once I transformed them once I immediately threw them in the trash. Well, that was a waste of cash.

I wouldn't go so far as to say any toys made me angry, but there a few I've been disappointed with for whatever reason. The most recent one that comes to mind is DotM Skyhammer.

I wasn't overly impressed with Skyhammer in the first place; his robot mode looked okay, but his helicopter mode, though cool looking, bore little resemblance to any helicopters in real life, also his mech tech weapon looked very underwhelming. Despite my first impressions of him, I had only good things to read about Skyhammer on the Internet and a lot of people raved him as the best figure in the DotM toyline.

So I decided to buy him, and realized I should have trusted my instincts. He robot mode looks even less impressive in real life, his posability is horrible especially in the legs, and his mech tech weapon is too blocky, looks cheap, and is way oversized. His helicopter mode looks even less realistic in person and pieces pop off too easily during transformation. Very disappointed with this figure.

Another transformer I'm disappointed with is Beast Wars Torca. I really like the design in both modes, but Gold Plastic Syndrome will only lead to disappointment sooner or later. Recently, my Torca's tail snapped right off without so much as a stress fracture to warn me. I wish I knew about GPS sooner.

The K-Mart repaint of the Swoop mini-con. I bought the set at K-Mart for my sons, and it fell apart right out of the box. They were so disappointed, and I was very annoyed. Not once have I ever transformed that thing without every single ball joint falling out of the socket, and it was the only nearly complete (his left foot disappeared into the car when I opened the box never to be seen again) TF that I have just thrown away.

The taxi from that set is a very close second. Crap. Pure crap.

My girlfriend's mum bought me a movie Bumblebee, but it was a non-transforming action figure! It didn't even really have any actions, it just stood there. I wasn't angry (it was a gift, would have felt a bit unreasonable to start huffing about it) and besides, I didn't feel anywhere near as bad about it as she did- she was devastated she'd accidentally bought me a non-transforming TF!
