Which is a the better fig? I'm about to bid for one of them on ebay but am on a strict budget and can only afford to get one of the two. Which do people prefer - based on playability, pose-ability, features, alt mode look, robot mode look etc.

Downshift, Downshift, Downshift! The mold is ten times better. The Cannonball mold has an interesting transformation, but terrible pose-ability. Downshift has a nice satisfying transformation, better pose-ability, and cool guns. There's no comparison in my opinion, Downshift is far superior.

After you get Downshift, you'll want to track down the Big Daddy repaint!

If you're looking for just molds, Downshift is the better choice. But I admit I find Cannonball a better character. He's a pirate, how many of those do we have?

And for a good reason. I meant to say how many Transformer pirtates do we have? Not many:

- BWII Seacons
- Cannonball and his crew (C-Skywarp, C-Buzzsaw, C-Ranamuck, C-Brushguard)

You should get downshift,mainly because i think you have Red aleart.Also,if you ever have to pick between a new mold & a repaint,always get the new mold!

Downshift is among the best, period, of that line.

Cannonball, on the other hand, is one of the best non-show CHARACTERS in that line, with a hilariously AWESOME paint job. It's just not quite as articulated as the Wheeljack wannabe.

If you're more interested in the mold, go Downshift, but I agree with most the people on here that Big Daddy's a much better choice if you can find him. I know it's hard to do, but waiting for the cash to build up so you can get both may sate your hunger for these figures. There is a Black Friday exclusive that has both of these guys packaged together. It came out a few years ago. Should be reasonably priced.

Downshift...is hardcore. Really really really solid alt-mode too.

And Downshift is one of the few Transformers in existance that could be repainted into the General Lee...

also...the top of downshifts head doesnt peek out in vehicle mode...never liked that about the red alert mold
