I know I sound like a hater, However Which Dark of the moon mold is actually bad mold wise not due to paint or lack of there for. And due to me only owning (at the moment) sideswipe, Barricade, Starscream, Crankcase, Ratchet, Roadbuster, and a Voyager Ironhide From Ireland (Or at least that's were the ebay seller said he was :P )....... Hmm i noticed i'm rambling.

Alright I'm sorry base Question: I have a Laundry list of new transformers Which Molds Should I just stay the hell away from.

"TACO's" :KREMZEEK:

Me "who the hell said that?"

Any mold has the opportunity to be a bad egg. I've heard of someone getting a terrible one, and another having nothing but good things to say.

I say......if you see one that catches your eye get it. If its bad, take it back and try another. Not all are bad. Example.... I bought a DOTM sideswipe and the whole thing was loose and wouldn't stay in car mode without things not snapping together very tight. Took it back and found a different Sideswipe.....very tight and stays together nicely.

I'd say if your buying a loose figure....your taking your chances.

Yes, DOTM Skids sucks.

Both twins figures suck. ROTF versions are far superior. However, I will give HasTakTom credit for designing two different molds, robots and transformations from one vehicle mode. That's even more impressive than Universe Sideswipe and Sunstreaker.

As for not owning any, better hop on the bandwagon now, if you're going to. A lot of first, second and third wave figures are selling out and not being restocked.

Ratchet (original), Bumblebee (original) and Crankcase are the only ones readily available. The twins, the Wreckers, Starscream/Thundercracker, etc...all gone.

Once in a blue moon, I'll see Skids, maybe a Nitro Bumblebee, but that's about it. Laserbeak is one of those blink and you'll miss it figure. Wal-Mart exclusive Deluxe Optimus is another shelf warmer.

DOTM is a real oddity.

They came out in droves and didn't sell well at first. I could find them everywhere. Then, before the movie premiered, the sales started to pick up.

Couldn't find a Leader Sentinel, but you could find an Ironhide here and there, and buttloads of Bumblebees.

Voyagers are even worse. Megatron? Hah. Not a single one to be found. Ironhide, one or two out in the wild, but mostly no. No Shockwaves, period. The helicopter guy is found here and there (I really can't remember his name...), but Optimus? Oh hell yeah, he's everywhere. Oddly enough though, his redeco with the axe is a blink and you miss it kinda deal too.

Deluxes...heh. They warm pegs so much that you could insulate a mansion.

The odd figures, the shortpacks, all just sell out and don't get restocked. I'm wondering if Hasbro has a stopper in place to prevent the stores from ordering too much, or maybe they produced in smaller numbers?

I dunno.

I'm still seeing some of the more recent Deluxes: Roadbuster, Nitro Bumblebee, and Skids, mostly. And some of the Walmart exclusives (not Deluxe Prime, though... he seemed to go pretty fast here). I still see the odd Voyager Megatron or Shockwave; and quite a few Human Alliance Basic figures. Human Alliance Skids and Bumblebee are common sights, too.

But what's really warming the shelves are Voyager Optimus and Leader Bumblebee. Especially Voyager Optimus.

The Deluxe figures from earlier waves have pretty much vanished, though. I was rather surprised how quickly this happened. The only ones I was interested were Roadbuster and Topspin; I'd put off getting them and I nearly missed Topspin.

Man if you guys need some of those hard to find figures from dotm Minnesota is were it's at. My local walmart at one time had 4 different places you could find dotm stuff. They overstocked on waves 1&2 of deluxe.

Shockwave, he is shelf warming up here.

One store that I went to had three ha roadbusters. Another store has all ha basics wave1-2.

Also one walmart has at least 10 PCC grimestone and 10 PCC steamhammer.

Sorry for bragging.

Back on topic a bad mold of dorm would have to be skids that thing SUCKS!

We have yet to even SEE HA Roadbuster around here, or any figures at ALL past the wave with the funky "Wrecker-fied" Bumblebee. Grrr. No Leader Ironhides, nada. About the only "new" figures are Cyberverse ones.

In truck mode, is he in scale with Megatron in truck mode?

Why not say what are THE BEST of Dotm?

The ones I like the most are:

Leader Sentinel Prime
He's one of the best TF ever. He's fun to transform, the vehicle mode is awesome, and the robot mode just plain KICK-ASS!

Ultimate Optimus Prime
This one cost a lot. But even with his flaw, he's suprisingly fun and easy to transform. He look great in every modes. He's displayed in ultimate mode with his cannon up and I added some more mechtech in his hands. Totally worth it!

Voyager Skyhammer
The robot is very nice, the helicopter is so great, and he transform like a charm. Get him.

Deluxe Topspin
He look great in both mode, transform easy, and he come with a shitload of weapons!

Deluxe Starscream
I love Starscream. Both movie and classic incarnations and everything in between. The Voyager RotF repaint is ****, but the deluxe DotM... man, the thing is so perfect, I bought him TWICE to display him in robot and jet at the same time.

Voyager Megatron
Yes, he's a tiny, tiny voyager. But his overall design is so perfect. Both modes are totally bad-ass looking and he transform like a charm.

Deluxe Optimus Prime (Wallmart Exclusive)
At first, I was sceptical about this guy and his huge backpack. But once you start to play with him, you notice how much this guy is great. His transformation scheme is very clever. The truck mode look perfect. And the robot mode is not too bad looking. He's quite a nice surprise!

Fun fact: Deluxe DotM Optimus Prime and Voyager DotM Megatron are perfectly in scale with each others:
Image

These ones, I feel neutral about. They're fine, but they are not ground-breacking. I could still recommend them, but they all have some flaws that keep them for acheiving greatness:

Voyager Soundwave
His tank mode is a big pile of nothing and we cannot put his cannon on his left arm. But the robot mode is very cool.

Deluxe Roadbuster
He's just average.

Voyager Ironhide
Robot is great, but the thing I don't like is the big mess that is the inside of the truck's trunk.

Cyberverse Optimus Prime
I have both versions. The one with the jetpack, and the one with the trailer. The trailer is not worth transforming into that pile of scrap. The figures themselves are fine enough. They are kinda essensial for my Optimus Prime Collection. I swapped the Optimuses. Meaning Jetwing have the trailer in truck mode and the one who came with the trailer with the more plain paintjob is in robot mode with the wings. They display fine, but they are kinda just for the Optimus Prime enthousiast.

Last two are the one I like the less. You can call them "worst", but they are not bad toys... well, except for the damn RotF Starscream repaint. But that one don't really count.

Deluxe Sideswipe
The vehicle mode is awesome. But the robot is ugly as hell and this TF have the lamest paint job for any TF ever.

Voyager Optimus Prime
The robot have weird proportions. The truck mode have a gaping hole on the back. I was very disapointed. This thing don't hold a candle to HftD voyager Battleblade Optimus Prime.

Any other missing DotM figure from these lists, I just don't have them. So I have no right to say anything. To end this post in a bang, have a picture of my DotM Optimus Primes!

Because Silverhammer wants to know what figures have problems. It's a much smaller topic to read through. QC is less subjective than what figures is good.

"Problems" a quality issues alone? Err... the only problem I've seen so far is that Hasbro have a strange tendency to pack an outdated manual with their toys.

Skyhhammer: They say to REMOVE the propeller blades in the transformation. Later, you re-atach them. FALSE. The blades don't come off! Instead, they just pull out for the vehicle mode, and you push them in for the robot mode. Don't go breacking your figure!

DotM voyager Starscream repaint. You think they would have updated the manual for this release. But noooooooooooooooo, they left it as is, teasing you with hands that fold inside. Guess what? THE HANDS DON'T FOLD. THEY JUST STUPIDLY STICK OUT OF THE JET'S ASS! HASBROOOOO!!!!

Yeah I've Heard that to so i just Irishide in robot mode. I like the Mechtech i think it's one of the better. I'm thinking of trying to find a domestic For a second Cannon.

Malfatto:"So where's your Airi Figure."

Me:"I don't have any Queen's Blade."

Malfatto:" well Why not"

Me:"Because I don't feel like going through customs regulations I did that once Before With MP Megatron and I nearly got arrested Plus It's Very embarrassing

Crankcase is pretty bad. With the cropped fingers issue that plagued this figure he is also VERY loose. Well mine is anyhow.

I have to pose mine in a crouching pose to widen his stance because his hip are so loose he just wants to topple over or do the splits.

Plus His panels don't really want to peg together and stayed pegged. Mine also had a broken horn on his head when i opened it.

I haven't purchased any other DOTM figs accept for Megs. Crankcase left a bad taste in my mouth. NOt to mention i don't like the line anyways. But my opinion on the line is neither here nor there really, in relation to the topic of this thread. ;)

True However the other reason is that the Detail on well i forgot the helicopters name But the point is the Detail on the helm looks like silverbolt's crest and the blue face look's dog like (much like Silverbolt's) albeit thinner.
