Takara Tomy has launched another round of campaign for the Transformers Dark Of The Moon toyline in Japan.

Any purchase of total Japanese Yen 3000 from 3rd September 2011, the buyers are entitle the silver coated Mech Tech weapon as the free gift.

The participated outlets in Japan are:
- Joshin Kids Land
- Bic Camera
- Yamada Denki
- Yodobashi Camera

I could happily deal with a buy-a-voyager-and-get-a-shiny-mechtech...

I really wish Takara/Tomy would've remolded the deluxe Mechtech weapons to be able to lock in the open position.

A chrome PoS is still just a PoS…

I'd rather get some actually varied product. All my local haunts are peg-heavy with DOTM Bumblebees, DOTM Bumblebees, and (to be fair) a few DOTM Bumblebees…

ha ha, yes this. I actually stopped and counted all the deluxe TF's at my closest Walmart and it was pretty sad. 38 TF's, 27 of which were Bumblebee variants.

They need a TF section, and then a bumblebee section.

Could that fit on every deluxes, every voyager, or for both? If for both that's good

Can't wait to see how much BBTS scalps sells it for!

Alfes 2010 has updated his blog with images of the latest edition to Takara's line of store give-away MechTech weapons. This silver chromed version of Deluxe Skids' MechTech weapon was available to Japanese customers who purchased 3000 yen worth Transformers toys at Joshin Kids Land, Bic Camera, Yamada Denki, or Yodobashi Camera. We've mirrored a few of his images below.

Isn't that the Chronicles version of Deluxe Prime? I didn't know those were out yet.

EDIT: Just checked, it's the normal version, could have sworn that they were different.

Any Transformer with a 5mm peg hole can hold it, which is like, most Transformers that exist.

Yes, these chrome repaints are the same in functionality and gimmick as the regular release mechtech weapons. All mechtech handles fit into mechtech ports on all of the DOTM toys, some even have ports on the weapons themselves(Voyager class mechtech weapons.

These are actually pretty nifty weapons if you ask me. Yes they are large, especially for the toy that comes with them, Yes they typically don't store well in ALT mode, but truly, these are really fun weapons, ESPECIALLY the one that came with DOTM Ratchet. a spinning saw blade? its amazing. yYou pull the lever and the blade comes out spinning!
