Anyway, wanted to cheer myself up, so I took some Cosmos pics!

I was going to take a picture of Megatron, Nitro Zeus, and Barricade in front of Stonehenge, but I kept thinking of Charlie's Angels while posing them, so now you get this instead!

Glad to see my Mudflap isn't the only one that has a sword that's gotten all warped over time. It was never great to start with, but deploying it recently for the first time in maybe 10 years it didn't even want to come unhooked. Jeeze, they really should have used harder plastic!

EVERY Hasbro Mudflap is doomed to the sword getting bent. The tab restraining it warring with the deployment spring bends it - most of them arrived in stores with a bit of a bend in the blade.

Safety concerns at the time - and possibly breakage concerns - pushed Hasbro to using soft plastic. Hindsight, they might have gotten away with hard plastic because of it being on a hinge, but not a guarantee.
Of course, some of the fault lies with the design of the tab. Instead of tabbing into the side of the blade like is normal with flip-out swords, the tab covers the sword's tip. This is why Mudflap's sword gets bent, but Supreme-class Starscream's doesn't.
Mudflap's other key gimmick also has a design flaw: There's no clearance notch for the missile trigger when the gun is folded up. So unless you actually carve your own notch (which I did) he's very prone to firing the missile off if you so much as stare at him for too long.

Huh, guess I'm lucky that I don't seem to have the same issue you guys do.

Man. Now that I'm playing with him, for such a blocky guy, Cybertron Mudflap has some sweet articulation.

For everything that The Last Knight did wrong, at least the toys that came out of it were awesome. Quintessa is only and inch and a half tall but she's got a hell of a lot of detail on her!

IMO TLK's biggest flaws were following rather than overwriting AoE, and not saying what happened to Sam. For me, it fixed a lot of what AoE broke and answered questions AoE neglected.

But yes, it did produce some delightful toys and that Quintessa figurine is amazing.
