not what you would expect!

But earlier today I emailed hasbros consumer affairs, about the DOTM cyberverse line. he also gave me info on a bit extra. heres what i said.

Hi, I was just wondering if this is the end of cyberverse. after all that is

on the hasbro.com website. is there no more? Ieard the dark of the moon line ends at the end of the year.

Thanks for clearing this out to me,

And this is what hasbro had to say:

Thank you for your email.

We can confirm that the Transformers Cyberverse range will continue into 2012, however Dark of the Moon products (characters) will likely only be available for this year.

Please contact us again should you require any further assistance.

I suppose the cyberverse continues into tf prime. but it is definite that the dotm line is available this year only. So people lookin for deluxe mirage or the leaders, there might be a chance hasbro will make em before the end of 2011.
This may not be important news, so mods if you wish take it off here!

Well this is interesting. I think what they're saying is the official DOTM line will only go through year's end. However I'm fairly certain they'll continue the "movie-verse" line in some form or fashion even if it's under a different banner. I can imagine Leader Shockwave, Leader Megs, Mirage, characters like those will all probably be released under a new title (like Hunt for the Decepticons).

I don't see how they could kill the line after the money DOTM has made- not to mention with over $1 billion dollars you know they're going to make a fourth film, reboot or not. I think a line using the movie-verse characters would help keep interest.

If indeed this is it then it's a bummer because obviously we want a Mirage and of course Leader class versions of Shockwave and definitely DOTM Megs.

Elita-1 came out in Hunt for the Decepticons, as well as Leader Starscream, and so on. They won't stop. They'll make another spin-off line, and probably contain Leader Shockwave, Deluxe Mirage, all the stuff we want need.

Yes, Cyberverse is also going to be in the Transformers: Prime line I heard.

Im pretty sure they mean the DOTM cyberverse will only be for this year... Not the deluxe/ leaders (You get the point). SInce you were asking on cyberverse, they most likely could have only meant that. ;)

I agree with this^ there is so much money gain there not just going to stop the line with all the new repaints and class sizes and characters still left to milk and profit from,

Well, I'm not really worked up about this. As much as I like the movieverse, I had my fill.

Okay, so I only still want a deluxe Skywarp.

Same here Skywarp and Vortex are my next targets and with a Soundwave i could happily part from DOTM.

I don't think they'll release Dino/Mirage as long as Ferrari is dictating terms for their property, like naming it "Dino" in remembrance of a family member or making the character have an Italian accent.

meh, they made Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, and Sideways. There are ways of avoiding trademarks/I.P.s/what-have-you.

one word: lawyers

There's a possibility that Ferrari didn't want violence associated with their product. I noticed that Dino didn't really touch or have any association with firearms... just a theory.

Nonetheless, he did have firearms in the video game (Sniper Rifle, Submachine Gun). Wasn't he a ferrari in there too?

But really, having a company pay you and still make a toy of your car is just a great advertising opportunity for Ferrari. Plus they get money! And Hasbro DID get the Ferrari license. The back of his die-cast RPM has the official Ferrari logo on it ;)

That's different: that's a regular die-cast toy car with no weapons whatsoever. Volkswagen and Honda's US department did have a cow about their IP used for "war toys", so Binaltech Bumblebee was scrapped and Alternator Windcharger lost the barrel for the weapon (Honda HQ in Japan had no problem with it, so...).

Yeah. that i thought there was supposed to be a barrel on mine ;D. And im sure they can just forget about licensing... just like how they made ROTF sideways.

Out of topic but, did anyone of your alt. windcharger's antenna break off? I guess its the weather here or something but it crumbled clean off on mine :-x

Hasbro never answers questions in emails nor gives out company toy line secrets via email.

Hasbro always sends out a generic email with something like this.

"Thank you for your interest in our product lines. we strive our best to please the customer. please stayed tooned as stuff gets released in stores."

I honestly want the DOTM toy line to stop making new molds in January 2012. as 90% of the DOTM toys I didn't like nor buy. I dis-like the DOTM toy line because the focus & 85% of the toy line is on the tiny legends, scouts, play sets & deluxes.

For those of us who prefer the more adult themed bigger TF toys like voyagers,$27 usa ultra's & leader sized TF toys. This dotm toy line isn't making us happy & needs to end as a result.

Sadly kids are the ones that sustains the TF franchise. Why do you think hasbro bothered to make cartoons? Yes there are many adult collectors out there but there are definatly more kids that would be attracted by these kinda stuff. Thats why they are using the movie as sort of a huge ad/promo for kids to go buy some TFs and for parents to allow kids to buy TFs after seeing them in action in theaters sort of thing ;)

I think Hasbro's analysis team is seriously WRONG when it comes to older adults who they label collectors,as being such a small percentage of the buying market of the TF toy brand.

FWIW,Parents weren't born parents, they were once kids themselves. dads who go shopping with mom & the kids might be the deciding factor of what the younger kid buys & likes. as dad might have a his own motives like wanting to share the kids toy or having dad+son quality time with the new TF toy. IF the dad bought TF toys in the 1980's,then chances are he influuences what the son buys & doesn't buy. Dad can get called a fan since he has roots to the 1980's TF toys & remembers them fondly of his great o'l childhood days.

BTW,It wouldn't be the first time(probably hundredth plus time) the Hasbro analysis got things wrong & don't know what their doing. Examples: the hasbro team measures TF robot modes wrong, not from head to toe but from toe to wings as is evidence of the DOTM butterfly wings DOTM Ultimate optimus toy. MORE EXAMPLES: The Hasbro analysis team failed to do the sales buying research & didn't know the last waves of RTS/Generations toys weren't being ordered+stocked in stores by chain store USA Stores. fans had to point this out at Botcon 2012.

FWIW #2,The PCC toy line was the perfect TF toy line for younger kids. as it drones that didn't transform that combined with as basic into a gestalt combiner. The PCC toy line failed because the majority of the adult fans refused to buy the PCC toys because the legends sized drones couldn't transform into tiny robot modes. Since dad's were once kids, dad didn't like it,so he influenced his son not to buy them & told mom/wife to not buy the PCC toys.

Contrary to hasbro's own belief, mom & dad do have lenghty disscussion regarding what their younger kids should buy regarding toys. The kids don't dominate & order the parents around. mom if she has a girl will buy her daughter all the toys she remembers getting as a kid. mom will ask dad's advice on what he thinks the son will like, dad will ofcause pick some stuff he likes & owned as a kid. because dad will figure he can play with the toy too & share them with his son. just because dad is married & has kids now doesn't mean he forgot about his childhood.

Ive seen many hasbro representatives at TFs events and just last week i a family that bought the rage over cybertron 3 pack and asked the hasbro rep at TRU to transform it. After 20 mins or so he went like "its broken :|" Since i was there browsing the TF shelves i asked the parent to let me try and i transformed all 3. Seems like hasbro don;t play with their own toys too. #-o
