The Spaces Inbetween

when you have bought everything that you want that is currently out on the shelves...
and ordering is just too much pain while you wait...
what should one do to fulfill that empty space that hungers for a new figure?
I don't know if others feel this way, but sometimes waiting is just my worst enemy :-(

I'm in somewhat of a dry spot myself. I don't really care for any DOTM current or upcoming and there's nothing else in the stores. So I ordered some Universe 2.0 stuff I still wanted off eBay and am waiting on those. Yeah, it takes way too much time, but I'm getting figures I really want.

well, as of now i only need leader sentinel and im not in too much of a rush to get him. i do one or both of the following:

1. take in awesomeness from older figures in my collection
2. catch up on older lines and get figures i missed out on.

I'm in the same spot now. The only difference is that I don't open every figure as soon as I get it. I take time to appreciate a figure when I open it so devote all attention to one figure at a time. Right now I have about a dozen figures awaiting their freedom.

I always assume there's a drought coming and I prepare in advance by stockpiling.

I'll back track and get some stuff I missed, and while I'm waiting I'll have a battle royal with the ones I got and do some rearranging on my shelves.

My wallet always enjoys these dry spells.

I know it's the quiet before the storm of TF thrown at us. "hopefully" Well see soon

Target exclusive 2 pack w/ Leadfoot
HA Soundwave
Deluxe Soundwave
Deluxe Q/wheeljack
Deluxe Optimus prime
Deluxe airraid
Cyberverse Soundwave

and I'm sure we'll see some new version of bumblebee before the year is out. I'm passing on Optimus and airraid will be a decision I'll make when I see it in person.

And I'm still looking for Guzzle and Shockwave Cyberverse. So...my wallet is saving up for the coming blitz.

Well I think my problem is that I get every figure I want on sight then open it,
pose it, display it, and then on to the next toy..
I think I need to appreciate each one individually.
Don't get me wrong these toys have made my life so much happier, but I owe them some one on one time i suppose.

Two things.

First, enjoy the break. Think of it as saving up money for the next line/Materpiece/exclusive/whatever else they decide to throw at us out of nowhere. If you absolutely cannot hold off on buying something, then...

Second, take a look at tfu.info or some of the galleries on here. Think about what you collect for, and if there's any figures from previous lines that can really help make your collection shine. If there is, do some research and try to snag something at a good price, from eBay, extra stock at BBTS or TFSource, or just fellow collectors on here. Between all that, you should be eating up a lot of time >:oP

I sit back and enjoy what I have.

I'll also make my next moves - saving up for something big that's coming (like Encore Devastator), for example. I'll also look around and see if there's anything "vintage" I might want to pick up (and by "vintage" I mean anything that's not current).

Basically, it's a time for relaxing, regrouping, and strategizing.

I get hit by the exact opposit. Everything awsome comes out, and I don't have enough money for any of it. That's why I don't collect cyberverse, It's either Cyberverse, or mechtech. Right now that is. I was lucky to pick me up a RailRacer When I did. Hav'nt seen a single dollar since then.

Yeah, I've done that plenty of times. Bought something for the sake of it, then regretted it later, but I guess that's the danger.

Don't buy things, just to buy something. Save your money.

I feel it sometimes. The craving to have it. I usually surf the internet to look for sites to order that item or went to stores more often. You just need self control and patience.

I just picked up Beast Wars 2 Lio Convoy and Galvatron. Two figures I have wanted for years. They should look great next to my 10th Anniversary Optimus Primal and Megatron 2 pack figures :D

Or you just wander into town, thinking about something completely different.
Then you realise you're in the only toyshop in Prato (near Florence, Italy) that sells stuff for cheap.
And they have discounted end of stock Generations Drift and some HFTD Scouts.

..damnit.
